Just came across this whilst stumbling the internet and thought it was a bit of fun to share!

Whilst we all accept and embrace the differences between our lives in the UK and the USA, and wouldn't dream for a minute of changing our host country (after all, most expats chose to be there!) how many of these do you secretly wish would sneak into your US life? (girls, it's number 29, isn't it?)

I miss Greggs. There should be one on every street. Everywhere.

I miss Gregg's too, what I would give for a Vanilla Slice! The cakes and pastries over here just aren't the same. Mum and Dad have a bakery chain called Waterfield's, they are divine, it's the first thing we all go and do when we land in Manchester. Even the boys ask can we go to Waterfield's for a meat and potato pie and iced finger for lunch! Probably a good job they don't have decent bakeries here or I would be a lot heavier and have higher cholesterol

I don't miss Gregg's...hardly ever bought anything from there. I know the Waterfields...they are one of my sister's best friends.

Not 29, 25! I am so sick of having to look twice at every numerically printed date I see here.

Can't go shopping without a Greggs Sausage roll.

The coinage one really struck home for me - I'm still looking a the coins when paying in Walmart like Johnny foreigner because they don't just have NUMBERS dammit!!

I don't use coins at all. I never got over the "it's not real money" thing, so I just ignore them / leave them behind.

In K-2 the kids spend what seems like ages learning the different coins...recognition, values, making change etc. would be a whole,lot easier if they would just print the darn numbers on them. Same goes for notes....why oh why do they have to be all the same size and color? Actually, maybe change is on the way on the notes at least....I seem to recall reading that they are introducing a new 20 with color.....or did I dream that?

I'm afraid I don't know who #29 is. He's good looking though.

I'm with you all on the coins. I never pay with them, I'd be there all day. They sit in a pot at home until I decide it's worthwhile taking them to the change machine at the local HEB.

The one that's not on there that I would really like is the ability to walk to a pub! I can't even walk easily to my local CVS (<0.5 mi) because there's no footpath for me to walk on. Being able to walk to places easily is the thing I miss most about the UK.

Ah, that explains it. I'm not a big football fan. He looked familiar, but just couldn't put a name to his face!
