I'll be lucky to be able to retire at 70 the way things are going.

Rest assured the GOP will come back with a competent fascist in 4 years. The 2022 midterm elections will prove to be more important than this one.

Knowing our luck though Biden will resign and dump Copmala on us. Might as well buy some prison stock if you're that way inclined.

You're a little bundle of joy this morning

But yeah - we're at a point where we have to be happy about getting a Biden because the alternative is so very much worse than that. Rejecting Trump is good of course, but nearly 70 million people voted for him. That's not just evaporating, even if the kettle is taken off the boil by a Trump exit from the White House.

Good grief  Forget covid-19, there's a parasitic worm infesting an awful lot of people's brains. Its scientific name is Trump.

I'm happy Trump lost but I don't think I can drag myself towards being happy with the fact that it was Biden :p

Now, if he gets the Senate back in 2022 and rams in election reform and stacks the court, I'll upgrade that to pleasantly surprised.

Yeah. Donald J. Trump! I didn’t think he could run again if he lost, but I was watching a report somewhere the other day that said he would be able to run again for his second term.

Technically Jimmy Carter could have run again.

I doubt Trump is going to be in a fit state to run even if they do roll him out in 2024.

Tightening up in Arizona too, although I haven't done the maths.

Republicans all over Georgia getting ready to sue county by county.

NV is getting tight, CNN showing Biden is leading by a little over 7,000 votes.

PA would be best bet for Biden, but Trump still has quite a big lead there still.

Still alot to count in Nevada, it was called early, I think Biden out performed in trump area's so he 'should win'

Arizona is fairly safe blue. 70k ISH lead

Georgia is a **** knows as can't even find clear data on how many votes left to count.

Pa is steadily going blue, so looks like at least 269 for Biden....

I thought Georgia would have finished by now but 3000 ballots an hour seems slow to me...

Meanwhile conspiracy theorists have time to do some barely convincing Photoshopping.

As a mail in ballot voter if you turn up at the polling station wishing to vote, unless you have your mail in ballot with you, you can only vote as a provisional voter. i.e until such time as it is verified that the voting office has or has not received your mail in ballot, your provisional ballot will NOT be counted. If your mail in ballot has been received your inperson ballot will be invalidated. If your mail in ballot has not been received by the deadline your inperson ballot will be counted.
This is why the provisional ballots are counted last of all.
People who applied to be mail in voters and then turn up in person - and without their mail in ballots - are real pains, since to be registered as provisional voters takes extra documentation hence extra time.......

Yes, I discovered this was highly state-specific after posting. Here is what they say about it in NY:

If the voter comes to the poll site, on Election Day or during early voting and votes in person, the absentee ballot is set aside and not counted.

Although it's all by the by now!

With the amount people tend to move around between states in their lifetimes, it would be tough trying to keep up with the rules. (Or maybe people don't, and this contributes to many invalid ballots?)
