I'd like to have more of my generation and younger and less of my grandparents generation.

Sen. Feinstein as well, she has been in office since my childhood.

Terms limits would be good, but how do you the lawmakers to term limit themselves? They don't seem keen on doing it.

I'm 76 and I am tired of old farts running the country. It would likely require an amendment to the Constitution. That was what had to be done to term limit the President. The 22nd amendment.
Adding amendments is a lengthy and difficult process. Decades these days.

You can't stand until 35. You shouldn't be allowed to stand over 65. It's basic common sense.

I'd go 60 as the oldest you could run. If you serve 2 terms as Pres, you are out at 68.

I agree. All other elected members should retire at 65....Pelosi is almost 81...Feinstein is 87.

Very close Biden 18500ish behind 200kish to count.

So 55% ISH sees a Biden win... Mostly mail ins to count I believe.

Tightening up in Arizona too, although I haven't done the maths.

Republicans all over Georgia getting ready to sue county by county.

It's also the only occupation in America where you don't age out at 50.

GA is pushing towards turning blue at this point - the counties with large numbers of vote left to count are Dekalb, Gwinnett and a couple of other Atlanta Metro (ie heavily blue) counties, along with Savannah (also heavily blue)

Very unlikely to outside the 1% recount zone though.

Looking forward to being able to exhale again. Tensest election count ever despite being an outsider.

Very tight. And at least some Republicans looking to disqualify every vote there they possibly can.

Yeah. I don't expect Biden to be any kind of saviour but getting Trump out is crucial to at least starting to be able to be normal again.

I want him out too, but all Biden is going to do is guarantee that the Dems lose the next one. I guess a pathetic old man is better than a psychotic one in the short term but... ugh..

It's not much to write home about, is it.

Arizona

Iowa

Minnesota

Oklahoma
Rep. Kendra Horn (Democrat)

Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (Democrat)

South Carolina
Rep. Joe Cunningham (Democrat)

That's an awful lot of Democrats losing their house seats! So how bad is this loss going to be in the house? How big was their margin previously? If Trump loses, and yet Republicans gain in the House and hold the Senate, this would seem to be very much an 'anti-Trump' election and not a pro-democrat or anti-republican election.

PS - that should really, really hurt Trump's ego!

I’m sad that Donna Shalala lost her race, she’s a good person. A household name, people will remember her as HHS Secretary under Bill Clinton. She knew she was vulnerable though; I think polling has suggested she’d probably lose, for months past. Let’s not forget, 2018 was a phenomenal high point for the Democrats in the house, and I think any clear eyed observer knew it’d be a tough job to equal 2018, never mind surpass it, this year.

Not in your list are at least one, if not more, Dem losses in New York. Republicans took back the Staten Island seat, and possibly one or two more will be lost, but NY is slow to count all the postal votes etc. But in general the republicans had a good day throughout New York, certainly in my neck of the woods (solid Trump territory) all the Republican incumbents increased their majorities ... Trump did too.

Re: 2020 Election

Ultimately, without some bizarre mix-up in voting in a tight State, ala Florida in 2000, given the Electoral College system, Trump can moan and visit the Courts all he likes, but eventually they'll decide for him. That's how it works, right? He'll basically have a month to try and get something overturned, which is pretty tight without said monumental problem, which we'd likely be hearing about already rather than "not enough watchers" type stuff.

Philly is really just winding him up now, isn't it? I'm sure they've got piles of Votes counted and ready to drop whenever they feel like (I know they don't, but it's fun to consider).
