Do you remember the SJW's having a meltdown because Trump did not have the popular vote? Not my President etc.

That sort of thing.

There's a fine line. Like I said I don't consider those coworkers as genuine friends so I don't worry about them. But I don't let being a Trump supporter, or even being a bog standard conservative ruin a relationship, even though I constantly feel like I wouldn't get the same courtesy extended to me if they found out how far to the left I've gone in the last few years.

Anyway, where I draw the line is when people start bringing in racism, sexism or any other bigotry. That starts to put strain on things.

Luckily that's not happened to me with actual friends. Only acquaintances I rarely see.

It isn't about if Dems made a right choice of leadership , which lets face it, is from a shallow pool and up against utter filth. To write that Dems will have only themselves to blame is a deflection, a victimisation and I suppose what I kind of object to. Trump is more than showing himself to come from the bottom of a decaying turd , to be frank , and yet people are all hailing this as the next coming .

The point is that individuals should be only and primarily looking at Trump and Pence and really, really thinking NO NO NO . Not 4 more years of that crud. I quote a certain someone who suggested he was a "Lame Duck President". Oh no he wasn't and isn't. I never thought he was. He brings End Days for many.

If it was not for the daft electoral college and the types of ideology that Sultan and Dakota and Lion mention I would certainly think he would be booted off this solar system and more but it seems that many people are not for community or social structures for the good of a nation and its land and this one world. They are for themselves, so will overlook this utter disgusting admin and vote for it.

Look what there was and now look what there is. It should be no contest even if Dems put up a scarecrow.

You assume too much. You assume you know how I vote...you don’t.

Part is the cock eyed US electoral system, but if they lose Biden played a huge part in the loss. A younger, more vibrant leader would have walked away with this.

That’s completely fair. Funnily enough, the guys I know have shown no racist, sexist or bigoted views. I genuinely think most cult members don’t have these qualities. But what’s weird is they either aren’t able to see those qualities in Trump, or simply don’t care.
The latest statement where he’s going on about fraud, I mean that’s down right dangerous. I seem to remember another leader winning an election and then refusing to give up power. It didn’t end too well if I remember correctly.

Many only follow him because he's the Republican. That's we're most of the people I know who support him tend to fall. But it's a spectrum as well, so you'll always get the odd nutter too if you're unlucky.

He made it clear, even last year I think, that he wouldn't go quietly.. Then lo and behold he rams in a new Supreme Court justice right before the election and here we are.

To those of us who actually learned about history in school, it's not exactly a great situation.

I had one fb friend I had to put on mute from time to time, more so at the end of of this cycle but I never defriended him as I know he's generally a decent guy. I made one comment about covid and the Republicans, during the Supreme court justice hearing. Huff, Huff, bang defriended me.:rofl:Such a snowflake.

Re: 2020 Election

Those of you who are arguing about the 'false claim' by the Republicans that the "Democrats are socialist" are getting it wrong, in my opinion.

You continue to say 'the democrats aren't socialist' - which is a TRUE statement. But that does not invalidate the bigger argument. I would argue that the word 'socialist' is simply a proxy for 'any further left'. So - a Republican who says 'I don't want Biden because he's a socialist' is really saying, 'I don't want the country to go any further left'.

Understand that, and you can stop worrying about the semantics of what 'socialist' means (in the US) and 'how far left is left ...'.

Hands up!
Got it wrong.... again. Predicted a landslide but failed to asses the mania abroad in the US properly.
Think I'll go away and boil my head in goose fat.

Its gonna be squeaky, but still expecting a Biden win :fingerscrossed: and perhaps the sweetener of PA on top and maybe one of NC or Georgia (unlikely)

And he could well get the popular vote by 4mill

Re: 2020 Election

Well the Dems had an open goal and should have won all 3 comfortably.

Will never have a better chance.

Big question is whether they will learn?

So it seems we have 238 'decided', and if the dems get WI (10), MI (16), NV (6) that gives them 270 = won, without PA, GA, NC. Am I doing the maths correctly there?
If either of WI, MI, NV goes Rep, then PA has to go Dem (unless GA or NC come through for Dems).

(edit - corrected math for Nevada! - 6 not 10).

Re: 2020 Election

CNN reporter when talking about mail ballots, was saying some Republican led states wouldn't let mail ballots be counted early, in hopes of being able to get courts to stop the counts before they could be counted.

If that is true, just brings my opinion of republicans even lower.

Probably not. Join the movement for a people's party, comrade, I'll make a lefty out of you if it kills me :p

Your math is sound. NV, MI and WI will be enough.

And then the toys get thrown well and truly out of the pram.

It's more than a little astonishing that companies such as Facebook and Twitter have to take an ethical stand  They've had to put warnings against Trump's statements alleging fraud and claiming victory.
