Well he has MeToo and BLM issues, we come down to the basic premise that any normal person would be mad to stand. So we get the choice we get.

Assuming he lasts one term then a second seems unbelievably likely so setting up the VP for the next.

I am not sure he will last one term so am particularly interested in the VP pick.

I put 2k to win 6.5k on Amy Klobachar, she became almost an odds on favorite then the George Floyd murder happened...That cop cost me almost 7k, I was counting the money... You're right, it's a big pick, whomever gets it will almost certainly run for president in 4 years and none of the black female's in the running are presidential material...Klobauchar was- The bet is still pending, and I still have some crazy idea that her bailing out so Biden can pick "a woman of color" was a stunt and he'll bring her back in......I give that a 1% chance

I thought Amy had said no, not sure she could get over the colour issue.

Karen Bass seems to be getting a serious look if press speculation is to be believed. I find it unlikely she would run to succeed Biden. She seems to have as much interest in advancing her own agenda and being in the spotlight as she does in contracting the clap.

Yeah she bailed out after it was reported that she refused to prosecute that cop a few years back when she was Minnesotans State's Attorney- Just my luck:frown:

Its going to be Kamala Harris- Just what we need, an overzealous prosecutor that has always cared more about her career than people

One thing for sure we are hearing a lot of fear coming from the Republican side about Harris being Biden's pick. The last thing they want is a smart debater who can execute the case for the election of Joe Biden while exciting the base. Harris is African American and Asian and that fact terrorizes the Republican party just like Obama's effect on the voting base. She is pro tough on crime while supporting BlacklivesMatter. She will be very difficult to attack effectively.

I agree. A 'tough on crime' player is exactly what we need to counter the 'defund the police' dynamic, which no one wants but has become a major talking point.

I think you're overestimating the effect of a VP candidate in a presidential election. Her racial background 'terrorizes' the Republic Party? Erm...

But biden probably won't do a full term due to age and dementia so the VP pick if that comes to pass would be the incumbent president and/or the candidate to fight the 2024 election?

For gods sake stop banging on about dementia. If you want people to read your posts, they need to be entertained. That means you need to supply NEW STUFF.

Re: 2020 Election

Biden and Trump both are in their 70s and for that reason the VP pick is more important than in other election cycles. Pence brings absolutely nothing to the re-election process for swing voters. He did bring reassurance to conservatives in 2016. The electorate is in a different mood in 2020. But Biden picking a woman of color will ignite voter excitement in the base similar to what was seen with Obama. Women feel it's time a woman is in the White House helping to decide the future of this country. Exciting 40 million African Americans, 47 million Hispanic Americans and 35 million Asian and Muslim American is terrorizing to the GOP.

I look forward to seeing how that excites States that are only a few election cycles from turning blue like Georgia.

Let us not forget that Colorado, Virginia and Nevada were all once reliable Republican strong holds 20 years ago until the migration of moderate and Democrat voters moved in and changed those states from red to blue strong holds. People are migrating from the cities to suburban areas and that is damaging the future of the Republican party. If you look at the electoral map the red states controlled by Republicans are located in less populated rural states. If more moderate voters leave places like California NYC ect because of high cost of living that becomes a serious game changer. Pay attention to Arizona this year. There are a lot of former Californians in the Cardinal state.

Harris? The ads would write themselves, and they would use her attacks on Biden over and over again.
