It is extremely disappointing, but utterly unsurprising, to see Usual Suspects basing the credibility of sexual assault victims on their political affiliation.

Funny how that works.

Biden apologizes for saying voters who back Trump 'ain't black'

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ump-aint-black

His comment about black voters and Trump prompted fierce and instant backlash.

The South Carolina senator Tim Scott, the only black Republican in the upper chamber, tweeted: “1.3 million black Americans already voted for Trump in 2016. This morning, Joe Biden told every single one of us we ‘ain’t black’.”

Katrina Pierson, who leads the Black Voices for Trump advisory board, said: “Today he once again proved what a growing number of black Americans and I have always known: Joe Biden does not deserve our votes.”
One train wreck to another.

Boiler, were you around in the 1990s for the New York Times' obscene and grotesque attacks on Monica Lewinsky? Maureen Dowd grabbed the pitchfork and led the way.

Before my time but a quick google gave me a flavour.

More and nore on this story, just another taster from the zGraun but plenty in oyther media sources.https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...y-relationship

Again and again, Biden’s relationship with black Americans, like the Democratic National Committee’s relationship, has been patronizing at best and actively harmful at worst.

Biden’s friendship with one black person does not mean that he’s a friend to black people

Some black people will support Biden because of his association with Barack Obama – even though Obama himself doesn’t seem especially excited about Biden becoming president. The Obama days feel distant yet warm compared to Donald Trump’s current presidency. But remember: Biden cycled millions of black people in and out of jail, voted for massive numbers of poor people to go to war in Iraq, threw Anita Hill under the bus to confirm a conservative justice to the US supreme court, and, under Obama’s administration, helped to deport millions of immigrants and bombed brown countries. When Biden was vice-president, black home ownership and wealth declined significantly, even as it rose for other races. Biden’s friendship with one black person does not mean that he’s a friend to black people.
Not too late to put forward a decent candidate.

They have had 4 years to come up with a decent candidate what makes you think they could find a better one in the next 6 months

One train wreck to another.

It’s good to see you’ve moved on from your train wreck of Tara Reade postings.

What’s utterly unsurprising is your believing that people on here are making judgments on Tara Reade’s allegations based on political affiliation rather than her complete lack of credibility. Even her high profile #MeToo attorney has dumped her after just two weeks. At this point why should anyone give her allegations any credibility?

I refuse to believe it could not be done.

Love the Graun:

helped to deport millions of immigrants and bombed brown countries.
The way they avoid the word "illegal" infront of immigrants - priceless. Now apparently wars can't be held if the opposition is mostly brown.

I will keep my eye on it providing of course the election goes ahead in November. The way the US is going there will certainly be less voters come election time.

Surely this is only a real issue if in fact there are a lot of blacks that did vote for Trump last time, and if they were considering jumping ship to Biden this time? Any black that voted against Trump last time around wouldn't be offended by this comment, and any black that voted for Trump and plans to do so again is a lost vote anyway. So why is this a big deal?

The Guardian's passion for bringing 'deportations and bombings' into every discussion reminds me of some posters on this forum who can't resist bringing 'Bre**it' into every discussion!

It’s politically tone deaf and gives Trump something to beat him up about. Rather like Clinton’s deplorables comment.

From Mohammed Ali's statement against Vietnam, and before, till this author, many people of color in America have felt that way about US foreign interventions. It's nothing new.
