On the subject of Air Force One, the CEO of Boeing said some critical comments about Trump's trade policies, then suddenly Trump is all for cancelling AF1.
It's all a storm in a tea-cup - there will be some sleight of hand with the budget figures, Trump will announce that he's forced Boeing to drop the price, nothing will have actually changed and all will carry on as before.
This is the new way of government for the next 4 years, we need to get used to the technique and tone down the outrage otherwise we're going to be exhausted, sorry YUUGELY TIRED.

Perhaps the president-elect could be flying alone when its time comes, or at least, the only one sans parachute . . .

I wouldn't think Boeing give a damn if AF One is built or not. They're too busy filling orders for the 787
They ruled out bidding. You can be certain Congress would never approve a foreign manufacturer producing AF1. the sucurity of the technology would be a concern...and largely..no one would want AF1 to be a flying advertisement for Airbus and the likely damage that could do to Boeings sales..
