Essentially why I left the sty Giantaxe created - it was a waste of energy. He doesn't engage in meaningful debate, he cherry picks his points, insults his opponent and personalizes his responses in a truly offensive fashion.

Some people make it so easy to point and laugh at their hypocrisy that you aren't sure if they are just trolling every time.

___________________ Unskilled and unaware of it: how difficulties in recognizing one's own incompetence lead to inflated self-assessments. People tend to hold overly favorable views of their abilities in many social and intellectual domains. The authors suggest that this overestimation occurs, in part, because people who are unskilled in these domains suffer a dual burden: Not only do these people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it. Across 4 studies, the authors found that participants scoring in the bottom quartile on tests of humor, grammar, and logic grossly overestimated their test performance and ability. Although their test scores put them in the 12th percentile, they estimated themselves to be in the 62nd. It will probably help him in Iowa where the evangelicals are strong, but work against him in the NH primary. It is very concerning that Trump is now up to 32% in the latest CNN poll.

Re: 2016 Election
The crazier conservatives are really eating their own over this Kim Davis issue. Megyn Kelly asks some "difficult" questions of Carson (which he really should have prepared better answers to) and she get's called a dumb blonde bitch. Shep Smith points out the hypocritical hatred of some of Davis's supporters, and he's called an evil homo. I don't know if Fox News moulded their audience to be so single-minded and rabidly attack everyone who doesn't have identical views, or just caters to them.

Ted Cruz talks shutdown strategy with conservatives - CNNPolitics.com His entire platform is based on opposing Obama at every turn. His filibusters and defunding initiatives are nothing more than PR initiatives that die on their arse every time. In his two and a half years representing Texas in the senate, he has successfully passed a grand total of... one bill. How on earth this guy believes he is in any way electable to the office of President (besides his own supreme arrogance) is beyond me. |
