I guess everyone - at least all the smart people - contributing to this OP is agreed that NO Republican is qualified to take part in the governance of this country. They're all stupid, bigoted, racist, nativist, "gun nuts" (nod to RoadWarrior), homophobes, waging endless war on women, liars, cheats, rich, hate the poor, closet National Socialists, etc, etc, etc.
Now that that's settled, can we also agree that ALL Democrats are honest, transparent, non-bigoted, non-racist, right on all the issues, i.e. the environment, global warming, LBGT rights, women's rights, black-lives-matter, the need to tax the rich so they contribute their "fair share," etc, etc etc.
Is this site not really a branch of Daily Kos and/or Move-on.org?
What's there to talk about?

There are 1172 posts to this thread. Perhaps 1125 of them agree with what I just posted in #1170. There is an almost surreal sense of uniformity of thought in here, so why bother?

Perhaps you should raise the bar, and call Bernie Sanders a Nazi.
Oh, that's right, you've ascended to such heights already.

One (just one) of the reasons that Republicans have lost their street cred is largely due to the sentiments expressed in your post. Get over the victim mentality, stop whining because somebody on the internet doesn't agree with you, and start selling your position.

I'm looking forward to Biden jumping in the race and knocking that dreadful woman off her pedestal.

I actually sort of like Joe Biden on a personal level, but he's the Dan Quayle of the Democratic party. They can't afford to have him run, even though he is the current veep.

What about Kerry?
He has gone up in a lot of people's estimations since he became Secretary of State.
He certainly has been more visible and delivered more than Biden of late.
Biden seems likeable but he comes across as more of a wingman than a do-er. (Maybe that's just the Veep typecast?).

Seems Rutherford B Hayes was onto something back in the olden days....
"This is a Government of the people by the people and for the people no longer. It is a Government of Corporation by Corporation and for Corporation."
“Nothing brings out the lower traits of human nature like office-seeking.â€
Quotes seem to still hold true all these years later....
Just trying to lighten the thread up a bit, politics can be so dry....

I think Joe Biden may actually be too nice to be president. You have to be at a certain level of dickishness to survive that gig. Kerry may be just enough of a dick to pull it off. I don't know why Cuomo doesn't run, he's plenty dick enough.
Hillary the candidate is awkward and painful to watch. She needs to get better quickly. A healthy Democratic field would either sharpen her up or (as Jersey wishes) knock her out. I've always felt that a charismatic Republican, who actually managed to run a smart campaign, could easily beat Clinton in the general. I'm watching Christie right now. In recent history, Christie has smoothed and shaped his tone and message quite brilliantly. If he can get over his thin skinnedness and control his temper, he just may be the complete Republican package.

Mike Huckabee on the TV machine this morning trying to use legalese to explain why the homophobic county clerk in Kentucky is not a bigot at all but actually has no choice but to refuse to issue marriage certificates because the Supreme Court doesn't know how to do law. Oh, and the silly woman has been married four times. Not only is that totally awesome for a lover of the sanctity of marriage - but a statistical anomaly that she could find four blind bachelors in a row.

It seems we're agreed that Trump is a narcissistic, sleazebag troll who's every Democrat's dream R candidate, or even better, a 3rd Party guy once he loses the R nomination, which he will.
And you're right, Christie has done well recently on his network appearances. Still think he'll be indicted for Bridge-gate as soon as he closes in on the nomination - if that should happen. It looks as though Kasich may start breaking through and could be the go-to alternative if Trump wins Iowa and NH.

Oh and she actually married the same guy twice, so you seriously have to question that guy's sanity.

OK, I'll stop whining. This is what I've been hoping to see: a bit more analysis and perhaps even some critical thought about the Democrats running for the office.

I'm glad to see the numbers shifting among the Republicans with Carson and Fiorina breaking out ... even if it's just a little bit. The support those two are getting, IMO, is the Republican base (thankfully) protesting the hate-fueled Trump supporters. As much as I may disagree with Carson's positions, I believe that he is sincere in what he says he believes. There are Americans who agree with him and that's the way elections are supposed to go. So, he's attractive to the evangelicals and Fiorina will appeal to the ultra right wing. Good for them.
Trump is just a ****ing liar and a conman. He loved all of the attention he got with the birther nonsense, the adoration he got from the ****tards that actually believe Obama is a Muslim Kenyan. So much so that he's parlayed that attention into a presidential campaign. He was losing ratings on his horrible, stupid, awful, cesspit of a TV show and he couldn't bear the thought of being out of the public eye.
I honestly don't know about Christie and Bridge-gate. If they've got something on him, they've sure been sitting on it for a long time. I prefer Jeb Bush on a human level but he's almost as bad as Hillary as a candidate. Christie is a bona fide political athlete.

The thing is that the Republican nominees have produced such dumbassery in such numbers that it eclipses the Dems, who haven't done much interesting so far.
#1185
Maybe if there were 17 Dems running for Obama's job there would also be some choice pickings. If Clinton continues to slide we could see some new faces in that field too.
