It is exactly the point. A lot of bad decision making is driven by people who ignore, invent and exaggerate facts.
You just had a Brexit vote that was driven by emotion, and it has done severe damage to the UK. That's what happens when nobody confronts the lack of thought that fuels these political movements. What happens when you're on the losing side regarding facts is that you just invent new ones and tell your base to ignore anything else repeatedly until they believe it. Once you've created that monster, even you can't control it as your base doesn't even believe you any more. |

On a kind of related note, why aren't the FEC doing anything about Trump continually soliciting foreign donations? It's one of the few campaign financing things that is still illegal.

Re: 2016 Election
So my grandfather-in-law is one of those people who continually forwards political emails around and lots about Israel. To be fair he does periodically ask if anyone wants to be removed form his list.
Occasionally I send him a link to snopes when it's obvious otherwise I just ignore. He does like it when you correct him and he does send round retractions. Yesterday he forwarded something from Breitbart about how Kaine is utterly the worst thing for Israel ever11!!11!!! I called him out for forwarding Breitbart stuff and have now sent him lots of reading material on Manafort. Should be fun. |

See also Clinton Foundation. Trump's campaign is flagrantly flouting campaign finance laws and nothing is being done about it. |

True, he is a life long Republican voter but has indicated he is not quite sure about Trump. I doubt he would vote for Hillary (doesn't trust her :-) he's still unsure about Obama) but if I can convince a Kansan to not vote for Trump...
