I just wanted to share an anecdote (yes plural of anecdote is not data) about a friend of mine here in AZ. She is strongly Christian and conservative, very much a Reagan Republican (self made independent business woman). Well she has burnt her membership card and changed her voter registration to Independent, quite publicly too. Now she is unlikely to ever vote Hillary but quite clearly Trump is not getting her vote either. This is/was a strongly held core belief of hers to the extent that discussing it with my wife who put it into perspective, it is just one small step below renouncing Jesus for her. This was not done lightly.

Could be very interesting times for the GOP.

Why exactly is she angry at the republican party?

It doesn't represent her views any more. The Reaganites have been left behind by the Teavangelicals etc. and they have let the party get taken over by Trump.

Wishy-washy statement from Paul Ryan. Looks like he's going to use his endorsement as a bargaining chip for Trump saying the right (in more ways the one) things:

Seems Trump loves Hispanics now, and the best Taco Bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill.

Yeah my first thought was "not ready to endorse" means what can I get in return.

From what I've read, someone called up the restaurant and they said "taco bowls are not on the menu".

Fairy nuff. But we need sensible repubs to take it back.

This will be an interesting dynamic to watch; kind of feels like Paul is one of the few Republicans with much credibility left. Could yet blow up in his face.

I guess Mexicans can now be grateful to Trump for putting in a good word for tacos instead of rapists and criminals. He might even go as far as to praise the qualities of cous cous when it comes to Muslims and of course he loves em

I guess for his next trick he'll try to make us believe that a man who's had everything handed to him on a platinum plate all his life is in any way in touch with the lives and requirements of the common American ...

You know Trump, he'll build walls around Mexican food. And it's the best wall ever. And he got the restaurant to pay for it.
