This was my initial assumption, though I think it was not as straight forward as it appears. I will have to go Google to remember, but I seem to remember that the White House did not have the capabilities (or regulations) that one would just assume would have been standard at the time.

Edit: Initial quick look got me this, not sure of its validity, but it sounds about right from memory.

On the email issue, the short answer is that I don't really know but she's probably fine on that front. Nobody that was going to vote for her is going to now vote for Jeb Bush because of emailgate. The only people that matter are the undecided voters in the swing states. Sorry folks but most of our votes just don't count. So, is that sliver of voters going to care so deeply about this "scandal"? I doubt it. First of all, it's too confusing to make a good scandal. Folks really need cut and dried stuff like robberies, murders, and screwing around for their scandal fix.

Secondly, I think it's completely fabricated outrage on the Republicans part and most (non Republican) voters are smart enough to see the side show for what it is. What it actually was though is lazy and typical Clinton behavior --- The rules don't apply to them. There was no reason why she couldn't have done what we all do and had a personal email account and a business email. Why she lumped them all together, so that later she had to delete her personal emails, is beyond me. However, she is allowed to have personal emails, not only permitted but encouraged as a matter of fact. So, as a general rule, if she has something to hide, she's supposed to use her personal email like a normal politician. I don't think she was doing anything nefarious or hiding any diabolical anti-American behavior. That's a ridiculous notion.

"Why she lumped them all together, so that later she had to delete her personal emails, is beyond me."

One would have to be almost childishly naive to not understand that Hillary lumped them together so that she could delete the "official" emails she didn't want the public to see... We are talking about Hillary, after all.

So Scott Walker apparently heard God's calling to run for president. Problem is I'm sure a few others also claim to have heard God's calling too. Is this the same God or a different one?

Honestly ... Benghazi ... this is the 'birth certificate' of the current election. Sadly some folks died, and that's always a bad thing, but ... let's keep things in perspective here! This has been investigated to death and nothing tangible has come out of it - not that Fox news pays any attention to these facts.

As for the Clinton foundation ... it's a private foundation and all manner of people contribute to it, for all manner of reasons. Trying to prove 'cause and effect' here is going to be impossible (not that Fox, Koch, and others won't die trying).

Are you really saying you would consider voting Democrat, but these specific issues are dissuading you?

Conservatives are fixated on Benghazi and the email thing. Nobody else cares. They may be good talking points for keeping the right engaged, but they aren't going to convince any swing voters that these things matter.

Well I certainly am childishly naïve. A doey eyed doe, a lambkin, a bumpkin, a newborn babe in the woods. That's me.

One would have to be hard of thinking to not realize that it was always at her discretion, what was (and was not) to be deemed "official". Had she done due diligence and kept her emails separate to begin with, with the normal premeditated sneakiness the public has come to expect from their public officials, we wouldn't be having this conversation. She didn't even have to use email at all, had she not chosen to. There are plenty of politicians and bureaucrats that put almost nothing in writing at all and refuse to use email full stop.

What is 'beyond me' is why she thought this approach was a good idea and why she didn't foresee it coming back to bite her.

Maybe it was...to put it in Bill's words...'because I could'. :D

Well exactly. I think that she/they knew what a PITA it would be ... actually following the rules, thinking ahead about what you were saying and who you were saying it to, and toggling back and forth between accounts. Oh dear what a burden.

Given how much she is taken out of context, it's not too surprising that she wanted to cover her butt for when she ran for president again. The thing is, no one really cares about missing emails, they are dull in comparison to a single meaty phrase in an email that would follow her for the rest of her life, if there even was anything like that. Someone as experienced as her knows which things are dealt via phone calls rather than a public recorded communication.

Maybe the whole email thing is a deliberate ploy by Clinton. It's a minor scandal which the Republicans will scream about, but ultimately it will all be for naught as it is destiny that Clinton becomes President. Meanwhile, no-one bothers to look at where the *real* scandal is.

Hehe. At this point even if there is a real scandal being hidden, it isn't being hidden by Hillary. It is being hidden by the almost constant stupidity/mouth opening being done by the GOP candidates.

We'd be here all day if we listed all of Trump's but today's campaign picture including a stock photo of troops dressed in Nazi uniforms in the background is amusing.

The rest of the GOP must wish he'd go away but then people might focus on them.

In fact, I just come across this story where some are (I assume tongue in cheek) suggesting Trump is Democrat plant. I think this suggests a level of intelligence far beyond the Democrats.
