The polls say otherwise.

Re: 2016 Election
Still amazing how long and drawn out the campaigns are in the US.
Our parliament was just dissolved so the campaign as been officially called, and it's going to be 11 weeks, the longest campaign in over a century...and people are already trying to say we are turning in the US because of it....lol If only those folks paid attention to just how long the US campaigns are...lol |

If the GOP keep this up for a whole year, they will probably lose every single female vote. |

I'm looking forward to tonight's debate and fully expect to have my mind blown by stupid rhetoric. It's fundamentally wrong that this is the way the process works, but - given this is what we have to work with, I make the most of it! My biggest disappointment so far is that Colbert is no longer on the air, and Jon Stewart is about to wrap up - right when the comedy factor is at its highest. |
Re: 2016 Election
It's pretty laughable at times, and US campaigns always start with a broad range of various nutters, ultimately whittled down to a few 'front runners' who are always a bit less nutters than the rest.
But this one's a bit different. Say what you will about Obama, but he's a pretty tough act to follow. The republicans know this all too well, which explains a bit about why every Republican nutter has thrown their hat into the ring. The democrats don't have another Obama to offer, an there's plenty of good fodder to rubbish Hillary... But in the end, I suspect the republicans will only embarrass themselves again, simply by infighting themselves into laughable oblivion. So I think this will be a particularly entertaining one. We shall see. Oh, and just for the record, the UK elections were also rather silly. In a different way, but silly(and surprising) just the same. |

True, one wonders why they didn't plan to stop after the 2016 election. My guess would be they wanted the new talent to cut their teeth on it and make their own names.
