John Kasich has made some good points through the course of the debates, and his presence has grown in the last few months.

Something that I wondered was peculiar to just me - his posture and body language just screams 'I'm too nervous to be elected as POTUS!'.
Is that just me?

Not just you. A lot of people here have noticed his herky-jerky movements. There's even a video (probably edited by Trump's people) called "Kasich Kung Fu." [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VjQCxozkiI] Seems when he's excited and wants to make his points he goes into a sort of St. Vitus Dance.

Tomorrow is Iowa. Everybody is losing their mind.

For the brain trust:

Is anybody else as sick to the back teeth of Iowa and New Hampshire having such overblown importance in the process? I know we've had this debate on BE before and somebody will probably be along shortly to tell me why it's a good thing.

What are your thoughts on the Democrats in Iowa? A squeaker?

What about VP picks in all of the different scenarios. Who would so-and-so pick for VP? Would Hillary pick Bernie? Would he accept? I don't think Bernie would pick Hillary and I don't think she would accept if he did so we can just skip that little thought-experiement. What about the Republicans?

OMG I just saw a clip of Trump getting prayed all over by a rather moist looking Christian male. THANK GOD for DVR, I almost missed it.

I think Hillary would be likely to go for a strategic pick - somebody from the latino community, perhaps? Although she's likely tied up that vote already.

Joe Biden would be an interesting VP pick - up to sixteen years in the job? Who knows, stranger things have happened.

On the Republican side Nikki Haley certainly seems to be the flavour du jour. If Hillary secures the Democratic nomination then there's a strong possibility the Republicans would look to have a woman on the ticket too.

I don't know enough about all of the potential candidates. :o

Yeah, I could see Hillary picking another woman or an ethnic minority. A lot of that decision can also be determined by finding the states in which the candidate is weak and then picking a running mate that can peel off some strategic votes.

Nikki Haley is a rock star. She would go from being a big fish in a medium-sized pond, to being somebody's wing man. Not saying she wouldn't do it, just wondering why she would do it.

There are so many megalomaniacs in the field, I just don't see how many of them would be able to swallow being VP.

Why is Donald Trump always playing Adele at his rallies? Is she down with that, ffs?

I think a Clinton / McCaskill ticket would be utterly fascinating.

Clinton/Warren sounds good to me.

Sanders....I am trying to imagine who would want to endure a campaign where all the criticism of Bernie's socialist/communist early history would be a daily assault...maybe Cheech Marin. :p

I like Bernie enough and certainly agree with much of what he criticizes about the injustices in the country..but there is pretty much zero chance of him ever being able to pull a total radical overhaul of the way things are and if he were the nominee I think that would really gear up Republican voters...especially after 8 years of them complaining about that socialist Obama.

Good article on his early socialist views.

Bernie just called Trump a pathological liar! But I said it first, a few pages back. :p
