It's been on the news the past few days that a sickness affecting pregnant women may be on the verge of reaching the United States from south of the border. New born babies have been diagnosed with a condition called microcephaly which results in abnormally small heads and the inability for the brain to fully develop.

Unknown to us however is that this condition has been affecting the Republicans for the past several decades

Zika is mosquito borne. Even mosquitoes have better taste than that.

Barack Hussein Obama?

Not being able to follow things that much in the last couple of days, but whatever you think of Trump you got to admire his screwing the Drive By's.

I remember seeing Trump's expression when Megyn Kelly confronted him with his remarks about women he didn't like. It reminded me of the bald headed evil guy in Austin Powers.

While Trump is an odious toad, this little spat over how to say the name of a book in the Bible is really silly. "The Second Epistle of St Paul to the Corinthians" is perfectly sensibly shortened to "two Corinthians" - where did anybody decide that only "second Corinthians" is an appropriate abbreviation?

Not that I think I have ever bothered to note how other people pronounce it, but I do recall that some of the more popular readings at weddings and funerals are from the two Corinthian letters - 1 Corinthians 13 is the bit about the nature of love, used in far too many weddings (including my own) and the bit about "for as in Adam all die; even so in Christ shall all be made alive" a couple of chapters later was used by Handel in his Messiah oratorio and was read at my dad's funeral. I'd say "one Corinthians" rather than "first Corinthians" to refer to these, if I ever had to again.

OMG, that doesn't mean I have become a Trump supporter by osmosis, does it? No, I don't think so, it just means that I think Cruz is even more of a pointless twat than I did before for choosing this, of all issues, to attack Trump with.

That's helpful, but still...could one of these be our next President?

Quite possibly.

My uncle used to bet on presidential elections and had a great track record. Unfortunately, he's passed away since the last election, but I suspect he would put his money on the Republican candidate this time around.

So does Bernie Sanders.

We have some miserable choices: a blow-hard billionaire, a Canadian of Cuban origins, or what I consider to be a failed former Secretary of State, or a cranky old self-described Socialist.

I liked this tweet I saw on that page:

"Teen: "I haven't seen any scientific evidence that global warming is happening" @BernieSanders: "Thank you for your question. You're wrong""

That sounds like Bernie gave a full, detailed and convincing explanation of the basis for the belief that the globe is warming in a different way than it has warmed and cooled for hundreds of millions of years in the past. Thank you Bernie.

97% of left-of-centre (the American centre) politicians and their adherents are in agreement that global warming is anthropomorphic (which is primarily Bush's Fault, by the way, the default position on everything that's gone wrong in the world).
