Re: 2016 Election

Polls in IA and nationally tightening, props for Bernie from Diamond Joe, MoveOn endorsement. This Democratic primary may not be a slam dunk after all.

If Bernie wins IA and NH, then things could get interesting. It will depend on what happens in SC and elsewhere, but if the narrative starts to change, then the polls may follow.

I would love to see Clinton's smug smile wiped off her face. :fingerscrossed:

I'll put you in the "maybe" column with Boiler then.

Hilary does have a smug smile and it annoys me. I see Sanders is ahead in NH. NH and Iowa are mostly white and he comes from a state that is around 98 white. How will he go down with black and Hispanic voters when the real campaign starts? That's the big issue

Love all the Hillary hate from certain individuals on here... it makes me realize I'm correct in liking her.

New Hampshire's proximity to Vermont is the significant factor, not that it is white.

I'd say it was a combination of both actually. Plus proximity doesn't explain IA, unless they moved IA when I wasn't looking.

As for Hillary, my problem is that she typifies everything about weather vane politicians that make me so cynical of the whole process. I'm sure she'll make a decent President, but I just don't expect she'll try as hard as Bernie to fulfill her election promises to the middle class and the poor.

I hadn't noticed the New Year's tightening in the polls in IA so that's a fair point. I think Clinton has always expected to lose New Hampshire though.

I just don't see Sanders as electable.

I agree. Clinton still has a big lead in SC, so it would still be a matter of who Sanders winning IA and NH affects SC and possibly NV. It could just be a bump in the road for Clinton, or it may be a serious issue.

Why not, he polls as well as or better than Clinton against all the GOP front runners.

I think we're way past the 'Sanders is unelectable' discussion. His numbers show time and again that he absolutely is electable.

It's just the "America would never elect a Socialist" trope. Just like America would never elect a Catholic, or America would never elect a Kenyan Communist Muslim - err I mean America would never elect a black man.

It gets tiring pretty quickly, doesn't it?

I think Sanders shares many similarities with FDR, who America elected four times, so we'll see how this one plays out.

With Cruz playing the part of Joe McCarthy and Trump as George Wallace. It's all very interesting.

Lindsey Graham was doing a pretty good Barry Goldwater impression until he took his ball and went home.

She feels entitled to the Democratic nomination.

Exactly...and let's face it had her husband not been Bill Clinton...she wouldn't even have been a senator.
