The conservative leadership is well aware that making voter registration more difficult helps Republicans.

The fact that they could turn this desire for reduced turnout into a racist dog whistle makes it that much more compelling.

Well we did have the longest running elected right-wing government in the modern history of the world until a couple of weeks ago.

I was listening to the radio and they had someone on who works in the oil industry and he said basically what has been happening the past week is this:

"Hello boss (in Texas), thought you'd better know there's been a change of government up here."

"Where?"

"Alberta."

"Oh. Republicans or Democrats?"

"This is Canada, there are no Republicans or Democrats. The NDP beat the PCs."

"The who beat the what now?"

"The PCs are right-wing conservatives, they've been in power for 44 years. They were beat by the NDP who are left-wing."

"You mean they're like the Democrats????"

"No, they're to the left of the Democrats."

"They're WHAT???? :eek:"

What Ben Carson really meant to say was that he knows, or has been told at least by some Provisional IRA members up in Boston, that dual citizen Brits have been engaged in massive voter fraud to enable their illegal alien British cousins, aunts and so on vote in our elections. He wants them (the dual citizens) to stop this nonsense or he's going to deport them to Blighty. Or maybe I didn't understand what he meant. Still don't, actually.:rofl:
