You shouldn't be because your "go to" source for US news, the Daily Mail, is saying pretty much the same thing:

"Reports surfaced Thursday night that some of the camapigns planned to meet on Sunday to plot a strategy that would remove the Republican National Committee as a pwoer (sic) broker in the debate process.

...

A senior GOP campaign aide familiar with the situation said the Politico article was accurate, however, but said the campaigns don't want to 'get rid of the RNC.'
'That's not our intention, obviously,' the campaign hand said.

Campaigns are seeking to circumvent the RNC in the debate process, the aide acknowledged, but only because it has taken a heavier-handed approach than in previous presidential elections."

Looked to me like DM's reporting was pretty straightforward. Actually, the RNC hasn't properly protected their stable of candidates. They should follow Debbie Wasserman Schultz's example, limit the number of debates and keep them in friendly venues. She doesn't let the fox into her hen house (bad pun intended). I would be willing to bet that in the highest circles of the DNC they ensured that only Hillary would stand a chance in the primaries, no serious potentials, such as Cuomo - Crazy Bernie is only allowed to play because they know he's going nowhere.

Unfortunately for the Republicans, DWS's rules would mean limiting their debates to FNC and FBN - at least until the Koch Bros. buy one of the networks and put Roger in charge of cleaning the place out - a Herculean task, a purge worthy of the Stalin Trials of the late '30s.

The McCarthy purges of the 1950's would be a better corollary, with the added advantage that the Republicans could also replicate McCarthy going after "the gays". I'm sure that would help solidify "the base". Of course, you might want to ponder how the McCarthy purges turned out...

Stalin's purges were much more effective. None of this "[are] you now or have you ever been a member of the Democratic Party" crap. Confessions, show trials and executions - problem solved, permanently.

Okay, the Republican Party has officially completely lost its mind.

The frontrunners are ganging up against Reince Preibus and the RNC for scheduling such mean and nasty debates. That, in and of itself, is Christmas come early. I don't disagree completely, the format of the debates has been abysmal and terribly negotiated in general, but look at the friiking material we're working with here.

This has been the nastiest primary of forever history and they've done it all in full view of, and for the benefit of, the horrible terrible left-wing media.

The liberal media is pitting them against each other? Really? So that had never happened before.

Donald Trump is oh-so-hurt and disappointed by the nasty questions? WTF!?!?!? It was just last week that he was making fun of Rubio for being sweaty (he sweats like a pig!), Carson as the lowest of the low energy candidates, and Jeb just ran home to mommy and daddy ... this was just last week. Let's don't even mention that time he announced Lindsey Graham's phone number during a press conference. DURING A PRESS CONFERENCE. ON TV. He talked about Megan Kelley's period on TV. HER PERIOD. Made fun of Jeb for having a Mexican wife ... so forth and so on, infinitum ad nauseam.

What about the freak show that Mike Huckabee put on for the benefit of the (horrible left-wing) media when that silly mare, Kim Davis, was released from her long and terrible prison sentence (almost an entire 30 minutes!)and they paraded her around like Nelson Mandela (stole that from Zargof ) ... Oh, and don't forget that Ted Cruz flew down there and tried to photo-bomb the Kim Davis press conference and was kept off the stage by Huckabee's bouncers. That was most dignified, Messrs. Cruz and Huckabee.

The republican candidates have gone further and further with their outlandish stunts and comments, just to get a little bit of media attention. Now they whine that they're not being treated with dignity by the media? Maybe if they wanted to be treated with respect by the media, they shouldn't have turned this primary into a reality show of Kardashian caliber. Sleep with dogs and you'll get fleas.

Wow! Leslie lays it down!

What they should have set up was a coronation procession for JEB! with a nondescript ex-Governor (Tom Corbett from my state?) and a National Socialist running against him to enhance his stature by comparison. They really need a right wing Debbie to lead them. [I know, I know, Giantaxe, the National Socialist would be leading in NH, Iowa and SC at this time and running only a couple of points behind JEB! nationally.]

Everybody is down on Jeb, I'm not. I totally feel his pain. Being uncrazy in the Republican primaries is punishable by death.

This is what happened to Romney --- on steroids.

There are some decent Republican candidates but their voices are completely lost in the noise of the cray-cray.

Just for the record, Jeb isn't out of the race, that was a satire piece. Besides, if it wasn't reported on Drudge, the Daily Mail or by Megyn Kelly, it didn't happen, full stop.

I couldn't make up my mind which of the candidates I support and was wavering among and between Jeb, Rubio and Cruz, with Carly in the VP slot. Jeb has been flailing in all the debates and if he were given more time he would have looked even worse. Knowing he'd be up against The Hill, I recognize he would have been sliced and diced.

Since I'd like to see a winner, it has to be either Rubio or Cruz, either of whom could defeat SWMBO in the debates. The debate edge to Cruz, but leaning toward Rubio who is not way out on the right field foul line like Cruz. Funny, my choice ends up with either of two Hispanics and a woman. What a party!

So, do you have a favorite at this point? If so, what's your reasoning - by the way, there's no wrong answer - just ignore the usual suspects.

It's terrible that they are being treated like they are all in a competition of which there can be only one winner.

That plus the fact that the debate was supposed to be all about economics and money, so you would think they would be expected to get question about their tax plans and how the numbers don't add up.

These same people talk about how they'll be tough with the likes of Putin, but they get bent out of shape by a few difficult questions in a debate?
