You can certainly pay £3 for a coffee in the likes of Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Cafe Nero etc. In a sense you're lucky if you live in a decent sized city as you can then search out a cafeteria run by Italians/Polish or Portuguese etc and get a far better coffee for a lot lower price.

I am with you on that. Dartmoor is wonderful as is most of South Devon. Go to the South Hams for beauty, especially Burgh Island or as a child I always thought it was called Bear Island. Okay you can and will get bad weather, which is the only reason I moved to Spain, but I love to go to the cinema, art exhibitions, the theatre and most of all to see my family and friends, but I do agree a visit is expensive, although prices in the supermarkets in Spain seem to be catching up.

Absolutely, March/April is my favourite time with daffodils and primroses followed by June with bluebells and foxgloves. A walk down a country lane with wild flowers on either side is heaven.

My Nan used to say that too or "If you can´t say anything nice, don´t say anything at all".

And in our part of the world you never see a fresh vegetable in a venta/restaurant all just mush out of a jar.

So from that, many of you think I am anti the UK.

I am from the Snowdonia National Park area, now that place does take some beating I can tell you, and I do miss the scenery and all that goes with it (except the rain).

I also miss many foods, (mostly junk).

What I actually feel about the Uk is that they have nothing any more, it's all been sold off to foreigners, so what's British these days other than the scenery? Even Rolls Royce, the old sign of success, and said to be at one time, the finest car in the world, is now German owned. What they used to be great at, like the post office sending letters for instance, and the Rag trade has all taken a step backwards. Now if people can't see that, I think that also shows how they view the world, i/e with blinkers on.

and here with fields full of purple suegras, and the roadsides stuffed with flowers you'd pay to put in your garden in the UK, fields full of white, claret or blue, and so on. Spring in Spain is pretty damn colourful.

Yes there are a lot of things wrong with the UK. Annoying as they are it doesn't exactly interfere with the average person does it. If they have a decent paid job, nice house, kids at private school, expensive holidays etc. they aren't likely to give it all up to live in an equally shit country, where you will always be the disadvantaged foreigner and work for 10 euro an hour....thats just for losers.
