I love stories like this. Classic Pot calling kettle black.
I'd probably have a fabulous, even orgasmic rant if it were the EU behind it, because the EU seeks a monopoly on high tax, and Gib is certainly a traitor in that respect, with the UK's full complicity (IIRC, doesn't the UK hold more tax havens than any other country?). That's OK, because Europe's taxes are far too high anyway, and needs competition.
Anyway, what a bunch of crap. Are they really that desperate? This is getting pretty serious. More serious than I ever would've expected. I hope this doesn't extend further than just a war of words...
We shall see...

I see the border looks very busy tonight on the frontier cameras

Hopefully though this little tantrum by Spain will bring the matter to a head.
Gibraltar is quite willing , in fact has requested that the whole matter is taken to an international court. Spain is frightened to do this because her case is so weak.

A little bit of interesting information is that all Gibraltarians can go to the UK for higher education, apply for students loans from the UK, and then the Gib Government pay these off. It was on Wikipedia, if I have this wrong.

The report on the border queues on the BBC lunchtime news today fell a bit flat - they were saying vehicles including tourist buses had been queuing for five hours then a bus went past (with no passengers on it!) and they tried to ask one car driver how long she'd been queuing. She looked away, covered her face with her hand, obviously not wanting to comment, and the man sitting next to her leaned over and said "one hour". I don't remember the presenter saying much after that.

If that's true, this just isn't right. Really.
And they always laugh if I suggest Spain has anything in common with North Africa.

Something else you've totally misinterpreted.

There are quite a few Gibraltarian students here in Chichester.

That typically for TV reporters, they try to make everything look as bad as possible then when they ask someone a question, rather than backing up what the presenter has been saying, the answer is not what they expected and it's a case of "Moving swiftly on ....".
Something else you've totally misinterpreted.

Bit I have to suspect if it were CMan spewing something "even more ridiculous than usual", then you'd both be off on some rant about how none of this is really happening, it's just the evil media exaggerating it.
