I have considered that the aircraft DID suffer a catastrophic electrical failure, the pilot turned round but didn't make 180 but approx 145, which took it across the whole of Malaysia in the hope of finding a way down visually (at night) and just carried on into the wide blue yonder. But the aircraft is believed to have made turns at known air navigational points in a NNW direction. And neither pilot has much if any experience of operating in that area. And why did it rise to 45kft to the outer edge of its designed parameters, but a height not normally monitored by regular military radars? (and where lack of air could cause breathing problems for all onboard). And then drop to 5kft - at the other end of its design parameters and probably using terrain masking and possibly flying close to another aircraft to cause a blip merge on radar??? I am considering potential location of the aircraft based on common knowledge, a country is a country, it has nothing to do with its religion more a destination so please stop slinging the M word around. But of course both pilots are/were Muslims so where does that leave things?? If it was a suicide attempt by a pilot why not just down her in the South China Sea ?? Why then head NNW then do an about turn and fly over Indonesia (at loggerheads with the Malays since the end of WWII) to head down towards Antarctica ?? And you supposition is................... |

Matt you have to accept whatever any one says can have happened, your reasoning is no more or less believable than Dom's Mine or Dick's or anyone else's, until something is found everything is plausible even the most extreme. You can not discount what Dom thinks or what I think, no one can at the moment. |

Personally I still think it was shot down and everyone is looking far away while the US Navy or other military is clearing up the pieces in secret.

Re: The UK news thread.
Any chance of UK news on this thread? ;)
For example - number of really old people increases five-fold in the UK (a testament to rising health standards surely?) http://www.theguardian.com/science/2...ase-statistics |

There is a theory, put forward by a highly respected and very experienced Canadian pilot that it suffered a massive fire, the pilots had no idea the transponders had been knocked out as well as all the other kit to trace them and they flew high to try and do a dive fire fight. I've red the short report he did and to be honest, it's about the only thing to me that makes sense. He also argues that the pilots did what all pilots do, when in extreme danger, look for an easy access airport to head for, the KL airport he took off from would have meant having to negotiate the hills around KL and his theory is he headed for one near the Andamans because of their sea level runway.
13.59 A woman has told Malaysian newspaper The Star that she is convinced she saw flight MH370 submerged in the waters off the Andaman islands when she was returning to Kuala Lumpur after a pilgrimage to Mecca on the day the flight disappeared. She said the aircraft had what looked like floats on its side but a large part of it was under water when she spotted it at approximately 9.30am (2.30pm Malaysian time). When she told an air stewardess about what she had seen, the crew member closed the window and told her to get some sleep. If this account were to be true, it would mean the plane crash landed in a very different location to the one that is currently being searched. |

There are a number of other RMAF bases that could have been used. ` |

Butterworth is on the West coast and at 11metres not obscured by hills, RAF flew Vulcans in/out of there and is closer than the Andamans.

How would they have reacted to a "dark" plane Dom? Sort of goes back to my original theory that it was actually downed by the Malay's themselves after they panicked it was a terrorist threat... Would you admit that to China? Not me.

You know of all the possibilities I hadn't even thought of that one but given the seemingly shiftiness of the Malaysians and how they are releasing info in dribs and drabs you could be right

China,Vietnam, the Philipines and Japan all have assets in the S china sea as there are many territorial disputes that often come close to armed actions between the various parties.
Even if the civilian radars were not operating , military ones would have been. If it did go to the North one of them would have picked it up, unless it barely made it out of Malaysian airspace. This is the Marie Celeste of the skies, even when that ship was found to this day still no one knows what happened. |
