Re: The UK news thread.
One theory on the Pilots forum was that it went up to maximum altitude as a quick and easy way to disable all on board, whilst whoever was at the controls had their own oxygen supply and were able to continue with their plans unhindered, possibly at lower altitude under the radar.
While the area where the plane disappeared was covered by military surveillance it was not constantly monitored or recorded unless there was good reason to do so and the plane could therefore easily have slipped out of the area unnoticed. |

Is it a good thing though:confused: I am hearing of more and more cases of dementia/alzheimers. I only want to be long lived if quality of life is good.

He'd probably have it landing on the Moon with Elvis in the Pilots seat.

I see Shirien Dewani is off to south Africa to stand trial for his part in his wife's murder. Could he and Pistorious end up as cell mates?

Mind you, it would be a shot in the arm for interracial jails. |

Black tomatoes and purple carrots.
Growers of fruit and veg are bringing out weird coloured foods. I like to see the variety of red, green, orange and yellow peppers, but I don't think I would like to see blue mashed potato. |

Parts of missing aircraft identified floating in a remote area of the Southern Ocean by UK Sat company.
All presumed lost. Pilot has been under suspicion for several different reasons recently and aviation experts seem to be suspecting suicide. It has happened before. It seems the aircraft maintained cruising altitude almost to the end, it had taken on extra fuel for some unknown reason. Whatever happened when it changed course possibly lead it being left on auto pilot till it eventually ran out of fuel. Wonder to what extent if any, the passengers had knowledge regarding what was happening, though after 7 hours or so they must surely have been getting concerned, if they weren't already aware something was sadly wrong.? |

Such a hard one to discuss, and sending messages to the families by SMS, that is thoughtless. |

Or the Navy dumped a few bits there ?
I have doubts if the full facts will ever be known even if they recover the black boxes, which will be one hell of a task in itself bearing in mind how far surface wreckage could have drifted in two weeks from the original crash site. The thing is that the black boxes are unlikely to tell them very much they don't already know. One 777 pilot pointed out that the voice recorders only hold the last two hours of conversations, so even if found virtually no information at all will be available from the crucial time when the aircraft changed course. As far as the data recorders are concerned, they have a pretty clear picture already regarding the relevant actions. The best clues may come from what they are already doing regarding investigating recent activities of those on board and most especially the pilot whose recent behaviour seemed to be quite a bit beyond the expected norm. |
Re: The UK news thread.
I have a question. They are saying that they know the plane ditched in that location because they are finding evidence of debris but it's been over a week.... The debris will be miles away if it's floating at all. Something's not right about this. How can a lump of metal so big still be floating in the location the plane was ditched?

I often wonder why people would go into 'care' work, when the have no concern for the wellbeing of those in their care.
A terrible case of two women beating a helpless ma in their care in a privately run home in Manchester. Both have plead guilty, Rita Page aged 68 looks like her retirement will be spent behind bars. Evil evil women. |

AFAIK they haven't found any wreckage and don't have the facilities to do so, but nor has any one of the ships in the area. I am suspicious that the Chinese have suddenly found aircraft and ships to send to the area whilst not doing so before. seems unusual for the pilot to leave autopilot on and just head south, especially considering all the reports as to the NW direction the live military radar people are claiming. Isn't it usual for any suicide to be carried out immediately before they can change their minds, which seems to be what happens the longer they wait ?? |
