UK Leaving the EU

Tell you what, I'll quote him yet again - seems you have an incredible blind spot. No point discussing it further if you can't see this. Maybe see you after lunch..
Once a British person (who lives in Spain) complained to me that you can only get queso Manchego in Spain, and that it is such a shame that you cant get all the French cheeses

I can fully see the UK voting to leave the EU, I heard only yesterday on Radio5 a figure of some 60% would vote to leave. the two main reasons are EU rules and regulations and of course the influx from eastern Europe, there are a lot of people in the UK that resent there presents and being out of the EU would be seen by many as an answer, I must say I don't share there views but I only have one vote!
I also think for expats that live in EU country's it would not make much difference, we would be treated like Norway and Switzerland, you only have to see how many German and French cars the UK imports to know that, we know who pulls the EU strings

Look, I didn’t want to make a day’s work out of this, but I suppose I have to answer. The poster is referring to a British person living in Spain as’ ignorant’ because they complained they couldn’t get French cheeses. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?

Yes, and the poster called them ignorant.

As I pointed out, and both you and Amis seem to turn a blind eye to this, he was referring to the person who only thought there was one kind of cheese in Spain and so wanted more choice of French cheese.
It's like someone (in the past) coming to the uk and complaining they couldn't get German lager because they only serve warm bitter. Of course now you can get German beers and lagers, but the point is there was (and is) a great variety of beers already available.

Yes Steviedeluxe gets the point
The rest of you don't because you deliberately want to misinterpret a statement for your own petty agenda
Someone who thinks there is only type of Spanish cheese is ignorant, of course they are. You probably think this as well though and will continue to do so until Nigella or some other British celebrity tells you otherwise

So, apart from the cheese issue (try some Idiazabal), it comes down - as so many of these posts do - whether we argue from the point of view of a British resident living in Spain and committed to staying here, or from a Briton living in the UK and not liking foreigners much (ohhhwww!).
The Britons in the UK should have their own forum perhaps. Britain leaving the EU, for us, is like Catalonia leaving Spain for the Spanish.
Weird, pointless and silly.

You called another person ignorant because you do not agree with them. That’s it. How petty can you get? You called me ignorant the other day because I didn’t agree with you. Everyone who doesn’t agree with you is ignorant. I cannot see what is wrong with this British person's statement to call them ignorant. It astounded you? Steady on, there, they were only talking about a piece of cheese. End of conversation for me here. I'm getting cheesed off with your posts.

What the hell has happened here? I started this thread with a genuine question about the possible consequences of the UK leaving the EU and it has degenerated into some idiots bitching about cheese. Is that an indication of the caliber of discussions on this site?
