Crazy when you think how many spanish construction workers are out of work here and desperate!!! There would certainly be no need of getting foreigners in to do the work - even if there was any!!!!

It makes my blood boil to think of people so low in morals, they resort to trying to scam unemployed people out of money. I suppose it's similar to those scamsters who've advertised "work from home addressing envelopes" over the years, or the pyramid marketing shysters. Lower in the pecking order than bailiffs, in my opinion.
As for Spanish construction workers out of work, it seems a million years ago now, but in Madrid until recently (and may still be the case) most construction workers were migrants - south Americans, Morrocans or Eastern Europeans. In fact there was a television report on the "league of nations" working on the new 4 towers in northern Madrid - they found it hard to locate a local worker.

no, they are jointly employed by the UN/NATO and other agencies, and they do a lot of special forces work.

well if there's going to be a new base there - whatever Javali Nuevo is like now, surely it will change dramatically?

If that is the case, why have you asked on another thread http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=675919
what income taxes would they pay? If they are UN/NATO soldiers they would be paying taxes in their own Country no matter where they serve.
Similarly why would you be making such enquiries? I'm pretty sure the UN/NATO have better access to the Spanish tax authorities than anyone on this forum.
In addition I don't think the UN/NATO would be that impressed with you advertising on an open forum where a large number of their special forces are going to be.
It just doesn't ring true to me, I think those who have already mentioned the word SCAM are closer to the truth.

Maybe not many people know this but UN/NATO direct employees do not pay tax anywhere and are very well paid at the higher levels.

It seems to me that if these people really exist they fit the definition of mercenaries very well and I would think the Spanish authorities would be very concerned that such a base was being set up. Scam seems to me to be in the air but who and what is being scammed?

No tax?

Do you know if they've got any vacancies?

They are called private military contractors these days ,many are quiet legal and often paid by Uncle Sam (DoD), can be very lucrative ...if you come home
