Only another 6 weeks or so now (maybe a bit longer for you) and it should start to warm up.
We seem to have got rid of the rain for now (had an absolutely torrential downpour which woke me up at 6.30 am yesterday) and it's sunny but cold, with a cutting wind, and lots of snow on the mountains in the distance.

Same here, horrendous rain, on and off since Christmas Day but yesterday was something else, rained solidly for 15 hours. Bright blue skies today and sunshine but still very cold with snow on the mountains.

They'll be back soon enough Dom, don't worry!

really do look forward to the 3 S's - even if one is now subject to a DOC, but then I make my own

I've read all six pages and I'm depressed now!!
It's been mild in the UK with a frost this morning for the first time in ages. Quite a lot of rain (surprise) and grey days of course, but not actually that cold.
I was hoping that winters in Spain would have been the answer I was looking for!

remember the US is being hit by generally unprecedented snow storms.
Its all to do with the Jetstream having a kink in it, its further south than normal and it forces the bad weather south as well.
but Southern Spain having bad/cold weather is something that not many people seem to know about. Same applies to Southern France and Southern Italy, both have a reputation for high temps in the winter - which isn't strictly true.
If you want consistent high temps in winter you really must go further south.

I know you're probably right. We have two small dogs and want some winter warmth so I think we need a re-think

Said they've never been happier to see the back of a place, crap weather and all.

I didn't read that properly to start with. I thought you'd typed 'Canadian Geese'!

Bright blue skies again today but we pay for it in the evenings!
One can spot the holiday makers from a mile away. Where as the locals are wearing a jumper, the visitors are wearing shorts!

I was walking my dogs down the beach a couple of weeks ago. I was over dresses in a t-shirt and there were people sunbathing!

....though just over a week ago they were freezing their titties of in MINUS 35 in Central Canada, so maybe that has something to do with it.
