There is nothing offensive about that reply.
What is offensive is that people without a sense of humour should expect normal people to comply with their daft sense of righteousness. If you're offended by what normal people write in their normal discourse with like minded people, isn't it better not to read on?
I don't dispute your right of reply, but people who disagree with you will soon tell you so. And you may not like it.

"Offensive Comments"
If the comment was about the colour of ones skin, it would be removed.
If the comment was about a disability, it would be removed.
If the comment was about ones sexuality, it would be removed.
But "FATTIES" at this moment in time are fair game.
If it was all about "SENSE OF HUMOUR" then everybody would be fair game, again.
So lets all start picking on the people who I mention in my first post.
IT'S PRETTY OBVIOUS, IF THATS YOUR SENSE OF HUMOUR, YOU ARE ONE OF THE PEOPLE, I AM TALKING ABOUT IN MY FIRST POST.
Come on everybody, lets take the p*ss out of the BL*CKS, lets take this p*ss out of the M*NGS, lets take the p*ss out of SA*SAGE JOCKEYS,
...it's alright it's just a laugh and joke. ( isn't it ) ????
Oh, and by the way you may not like that comment either.
...but it doesn't matter, I'm having a laugh and joke.

I have a strange feeling about you and your style of posting.
I feel that you actually enjoy writing thoses words, (and pretend to be offended at the same time).
There is no need to say (see above highlighted part of post) use the word GAY and everyone will understand what you are saying.
This is not the only post where you have listed a whole host of such words,
As I say you seem to say certain words with too much gusto, to be genuinely shocked.
Fishy, fishy, fishy............................Fake outrage, it seems like that to me.

In my first post, I made apologies for the offensive language that I used, unfortunately, I had submitted my reply in my "previous" post before I could make the necessary apologies again.
So for any offense in the language I used, I again apologise.
However my post was meant to be hard hitting, in it's language, not offensive.
So having covered that Me Me, I will now make a comment about you in my next post.
I tried to refrain from commenting on one of your earlier post's, but in view of your comments about me, take a look at my next post.

OMG.
Really fat people are by their very nature uncomfortable in their everyday life, and altering the seating on an aircraft and possibly pushing up the price for the other passengers will not alter their lives at all.
I have seen overweight people in shoe shops, who cannot put their shoes on or even take them off, due to excess weight.
In my local a hairdresser an extremely overweight woman cannot have a "backwash or even a frontwash" and has to arrive with her hair already wet, ready for styling/cutting.
I have been in local bars, where customers cannot use the toilets, due to the fact that they cannot manoevre in such small places.
Airline seating is just another obstacle for overweight people and for most it is minor consideration, because it is not something they do everyday.
So should every situation where overweight people are uncomfortable be changed at great cost to business , or should the people affected be responsible for their own predicament, and look to themselves for a solution?

You gave me the impression that you walk around in blinkers, and all you see is "FAT" people.
How do you know that fat people are uncomfortable in their everyday lives??
"Do they complain to you"??
You have "SEEN" overweight people in shoe shops who cannot put their shoes on or even take them off, due to excess weight.
"Did they complain to you"??

"Did they all complain to you"??
I suspect not, more than likely you are one of these "VERY" observant people when it comes to "FATTIES"??
And I will repeat, my comments are nothing to do with people being charged extras, it's the underlying tone that I detect in comments such as yours.
It seems that you are the one that has a problem with "FATTIES", and not "FATTIES" with themselves.

Well I wouldn't lose any sleep about fatties not being able to fit in toilets. It is more or less self-inflicted. I think it would give me a much needed wake up call.

As a matter of fact, two of the women, 1 has had a gastric band, the other has had some sort of stomach capacity reduction, both recently.
I presume that one does not go through the risk and pain of a quite complicated surgical operation if one is happy with the way they are.
It stands to reason, not to mention the drastic change in the enjoyment of food, and limits placed upon the persons social life.
As for the woman who cannot use the toilets in one of our local bars, she has not complained to me, but you don´t have to be Sherlock Holmes to know it makes her everyday life uncomfortable.
And I must say, that after the rather big build up to your post, after giving me fair warning and all, I am rather dissapointed as I find your logic and reasoning very infantile.

that is partly my point, if somebody is struggling in the toilet, then thats their problem, just ignore it,
but for somebody to make derogatory comments, why??
It's that part I don't understand.

I wish you had been sitting in front of us on a recent flight. 2 year old granddaughter moving about a bit and in the process bumping into the seat in front. Woman turned round to me; I thought she was going to comment on how sweet she is (she is very sweet) but instead she said 'can you stop her banging the seat please'. Not sure how she expected a 2 year old to behave. I just said to child 'can you sit still, please, the lady in front is complaining' but other than tying her up (child not woman in front) there wasn't much we could do in such a confined place.

I do not expect everyone who I come into contact with to complain about their life/weight/family problems etc, to me. I am not an agony aunt, and I would not want them to.

I will never see it your way, and I am fairly certain you will never see it my way either.
I am quite sure that there are people out there who agree with you, and likewise there will be people who may not agree with everything that I say, but will also understand where I am coming from.
However,
A leopard never changes it's spots, but I am happy with mine.
Good Night.

You remind me of the way my little boy behaved when he was about 5.
He found out that the word "boob" could be used to mean mistake, and tried to say it as often as he could.
As he was using it in a "non rude" way, he was delighted that he could say a "rude" word with impunity and a twinkle in his eye, and he was hoping we would challenge him, then of course he would have explained with righteous indignation that he was totally innocent, and we had his intentions all wrong.
But he was only a kid, but I get the same feeling from your posts.

Seems to me this has turned into a slanging match. Fact is if someone is fat then they are fat full stop. The original post as I understood was about them being too large/fat/oversize/big, call it what you will, to fit into an aircraft seat. If they cannot then should they be allowed to fly? My opinion is that if they cannot fit into the budget airline seats then they must accommodate themselves outwith these airlines. I am not slim but I an by no means oversize, and it is extremely inconvenient to have an "oversize" person overlapping into what little space is allocated. If I don't like this should I have to use the other airlines and leave the budget ones to the fatties ( no offence is intended by the use of this word).

I see at the beginning of this thread, boring Bertie had contributed about 20 posts since 2007, so hopefully he'll be bedding down for the winter soon, he's well exceeded his average number of posts for the year. In modern parlance Bertie, suck it up, buttercup.

On that note, we´re not talking here about "fat" people. We are talking about the super huge.
I´ve sat next to fat people on planes without any issue. The super huge, well thats a different scale.
As I´ve said before, largeer than average people don´t seem to have a problem with plane seats. Only the truley obese.
A more comment problem is that of tall people which just seem to get on with it!
