Dom Pestico at Vila Real - had wonderful fish lunch overlooking the estuary. Decided to try their "Champagne Sangria with fruits". Delicious and very reasonably priced at €9.50 Smart beach restaurant at Praia Verde (sorry can't recall the name) - this is the one right on the boardwalk. Had a terrific lunch, in really comfortable surroundings. Quitapenas (opposite El Choco) at Ayamonte - had the most enjoyable and varied tapas we have had. |

Just wanted to post a quick note of thanks to whoever recommended the following restaurants:-
Dom Pestico at Vila Real - had wonderful fish lunch overlooking the estuary. On this occasion the waiter recommended fish that were not not on the menu. He brought the fish out to show us and they were quite large. We were a bit wary as we have been ripped off a couple of times at restaurants that offered us "something special" that was not on the menu and turned out to cost about 70euros. However the fish looked good and we said yes we would like them. He also recommended a wine that we hadn't seen on the menu. The food arrived and was delicious as usual and we waited for the bill with some trepidation. We need not have worried - it was very reasonable and not a lot of different to the cost of other good meals we have had. So another endorsement for Dom Pestico. Good food and not ripped off. We sat outside with the river lapping gently on the little beach and citronella candles on every table to keep the mozzies at bay. Delightful. Pat |

We went to Manta Rota recently and went to O Paraiso (on the main road just before Mar's Bar) and had a very enjoyable (and sizeable) lunch of soup and mackerel grilled on the barbeue with salad and boiled potatoes. Reasonably priced too. Other meals we saw being delivered to other tables mean that we will return to sample more of the menu!

Hi here is a bit of good Christmas News.
Luis who has the Restaurante Saolupi in Monte Fransico ( the nearest to CE apart from Jags) has anounced a Christmas Menu for groups from 2 - 20. The good news is that with prices from €14 - €22 and groups from 2 - 20 catered for we should all be able to partake.:thumbsup::thumbsup: |
