Got an e-mail from our mortgage broker. The bank were going to give him a certificate for the builders saying they were giving us a mortgage so they would release the keys to us. The certificate should have been ready last Wednesday but the bank didn't have it ready, they said to go back Friday (yesterday). He went back and now the bank have said they will have the certificate ready on Monday BUT they will add a clause saying that the property MUST be ready (escrituras applied for) by the end of May. This can only mean they will withdraw their offer of a mortgage and we will have to re-apply The builders are applying for the escrituras a few properties at a time. I feel sick

Surely they will apply for yours first given the delays you have incurred previously. Do the builders know of this late spanner in the works. They probably want to bank the money as much as you want to spend it so if the know the deadline is looming they might apply for the escrituras on yours pronto

Maybe we should pull out after all, they are in breach of contract after the end of April so we'll see what happens then. This has been a nightmare! They have a great way in Spain of lifting a persons spirits and then dropping you again from a great height!!

Go and chat to the builder and tell him your problem. If he thinks he will lose the sale and who knows when he may get another one, it might motivate him to move on yours.

Hey - it's not the end of the road, just another pot-hole.

You'll get there in the end if it's what you really want. Good luck!

Can't do anything until Monday, we are waiting to see what the bank has put in the clause. Then I will contact the agents we are buying from and see what to do next. I just feel really fed up

Oh no! Catastrophe! If it's any consolation, I'm in Spain, just finished for a week's holiday and it's cold and wet. I also need comfort food but can't face going out....

Well the sun is shining here, it's a lovely day but still a bit chilly.

Yes Gallerie - I agree they probably get a sadistic pleasure out of messing up a weekend I bet they time it that way on purpose!

I do not think that they even realise that they have caused you a problem. Their laid back attitude stops them from suffering from this type of experience.

After we bought our house in Spain but still living in UK we were worried about water and sewage bill so e-mailed someone in the town hall. When we translated his reply it began with 'but calm' and then went on to explain the procedure.

Yesturday the gestoria told us to smile it is Friday we have a weekend. So, so laid back.

Sorry for your glitch but do not let it get to you too much your plans WILL still go ahead I am sure.

Every thing crossed

Rosemary
