Well the R.N. have left and there is now a fishing boat and the brave G.C. playing Rsoles.
I am surprised they can afford the fuel. They hardly need to be dredging Gibraltar waters with income like this. http://www.iwatchnews.org/2011/10/02...ravenous-fleet |

Oh they can afford it alright as long as we keep on paying for it.

Re: Problems in Gibraltar again
Spain has its own Gibraltar - and that's Andorra. Our town actually twinned with a town there (Encamps) to make it easier, with a free bus, for our citizens to go and check their bank accounts. Oddly, no one talks about Andorra... ruled jointly by François Hollande and Joan Enric Vives i SicÃlia, the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell.
Perhaps we should sort this all out and give Gib to the Bishop of Norwich. |

Madrid daily ABC yesterday reported that King Juan Carlos of Spain will be visiting Algeciras next week “to support the work of the Guardia Civil†in the current fishing dispute with Gibraltar.

Re: Problems in Gibraltar again
But do the waters surrounding Gibraltar really belong to the colony? because according to the Spanish the original Treaty says otherwise.

Of course you would... that kind of diversion is what Maggie Thatcher intended by invading the Falklands and boosting nationalism, dear. ;) |

Funny that the Spanish don't have the same morals about the land they still occupy in Morocco and their sovereign waters eh?

Re: Problems in Gibraltar again
If you take the end of Moorish rule as the beginning of modern Spain then Gibralter has actually been British far longer than it was Spanish.

Thats not even possible, check your history, it may not have been called Morocco but it was definitely a country and as I have said to the other troll, the MOORS ruled Spain before Spain was a country so it simply doesn't make sense.
And sorry but you´re not making any sense here. Gibraltar should become what Ceuta and Malilla are, just in British hands. I´m against colonization of any kind. And what do the Moors (who ruled 2/3 of the peninsula, by the way) have to do with it?? if they couldn´t retain their conquered land back in the middle age that´s their bloody problem! They didn´t sign any treaty that I´m aware of, did they? |
