Pool Chemical levels
Just some advice from you experts.
Just checked the pool levels, acidity is normal (7.6) but its showing that the chlorine level is less than .3 even though there are two tablets in the skim filter half used. Water looks clear. Do I just add more chlorine / replace the tablets? (Our pool man has dissapeared, haven't seen hom for a couple of weeks!)

Put some more clorine in, preferably granuals this will work quicker.
If you have some PH reductor, put a bit in this will bring the ph down.
How long do you run the pump for ?

Pump runs for about 5 hours a day
I've only got tablets so I guess chuck another one in ...
There is some ph liquid in there which is Hydrochloric acid so thats to increase ph aint it.
Teaches me .... I should have taken more notice of what he was doing
No I haven't checked it, should I backwash and rinse?
Sorry to sound a dummy!!!

Dont put acid in that will raise it you need to lower it.
have a look in the filter bowl, as matt says it may need cleaning out. you could try a backwash and rinse, but make sure you turn the pump off while you move the valve.

Thats interesting .... when I've watched the pool cleaner he has always changed from filter to Backwash to rinse with the pump on ...... which of course is what I just did. Does it do damage?
Cleaned the filter bowl
Stuck another tablet in
See what the levels are tomorrow
