Well maybe there might be enough of euros left for a permanent bus route to CE !

I don't think you would be allowed to spend the Guarantees money on a bus service. However there were other things that were part of the planing approval overall that we keep being promised around election time that just do NOT APPEAR!!
There should be a clinic, pharmacy. kindergarten and sport facilities. Before the last election both mayoral candidates came to Esuri and laid out the vision which was an initial portacabin provision of a joint clinic, pharmacy and police post. The land for these is set aside just north of the shop and there is already a large concrete hardstanding with foul and surface water drainage where the workers canteen used to be. Electricity used to be by overhead power lines but even that could be linked in to the nearby step down transformer.
To me the biggest disappointment is not that the things that should be there are not but that something as simple as a posting box (which I assume Correos would provide at no cost to anyone) is beyond provision. There is a simple cast iron one on a post down at Canela beside the sport facility run by the Ayuntamiento but we are not good enought to have anything. Even the stolen lights cable from motorway to the viaduct has not been replaced so at this time of year it is a very dark and gloomy kilometer on the entrance to our development.

Fantastic !!! This news is wonderful, I had posted on another thread about the Fadesa that bond that was due for CE and I am delighted that the Mayor has gone public to say the money will be directed to "us". Let's hope it is all directed to CE and is spent wisely. Not a McD eater myself but it is great that they are opening a franchise in La Plaza and it is brilliant that private investors are going to build a Water Park at the entrance to CE. I cannot help but say IF, IF and be a little cynical as we have had false promises before but I am hopeful and it is not chinese whispers, the mayor has said this publicly so lets hope he does not renage. Surprised no mention at all was made of the proposed Marina ???
Also hearing that ex-Jags will be opening as a resto called Vista Verde - can anybody confirm this for sure and, if true, when will it be opening ?

So any thing that was supposed to be provided under the planning approval by FADESA would be covered. That of course would not cover the second 4star or the 5star hotels or the shopping centre since they were to be commercial provisions.

I made a Boo Boo.Just before Christmas we could hear and see what a distance appeared to be a pile driver which worked till late and at weekends this was accompanied by a very large hydraulic crane so we assumed an extension was happening. When we returned after Christmas it was all gone and only a smallish step down transformer remains so yes no on site power generation.

Thank you for the explanation about the bond money John.

I think it was general reinforcement of the power network in this end of Huelva. If you go back to about 2005/6 there was much concern with the need for extra capacity for the new build all along the coast from Punta Umbria to Ayamonte. This has gradually occurred in parallel with the almost complete stopping of building so the network must now be regarded as robust enough to dispense with the reinforcement of this small gas fired generation station (which must have been expensive electricity).

I don't think so. It was not for the fish farm although they did benefit from the waste heat from the cooling water which speeded up the growth of the prawns.
