Just been around the shops and noticed the various headlines glaring out from the news stands.
As expected the media are having a field day and the cops are public enemy no one again.

Public enemy no 1 is the criminal.
Children's enemy no 1 is fhe criminal.
Children's enemy no 2 is the person that invites the enemy into the child's life.
Children's enemy no 3 is the person who sees all and does nothing.

The plot thickens.

Now the Grandmother has been arrested on suspicion of murder and the next door neighbour on suspicion of helping them.

People just need to know don't they? Is it any wonder the press feed us with stories when we all show such a hunger for the "facts"?

It will all come out in the wash.

It's a disturbing topic that affects all of us who have ever brought children into the world.

The police have apologised for making basic mistakes, I don't know what to make of that, it's not going to inspire public confidence, is it?

Facts? The step grandfather was also the previous stepfather, and I noticed that both the dead girl and him have extremely clear blue eyes.

Drug and alcohol abuse are apparent throughout, as is a disregard for family values common among slum people. At some stage they showed photographs of the concerned relatives wearing identical T-shirts, I thought they looked like a bunch of thugs.

Forgetting all that, that poor girl didn't deserve any of it.

Ohhh I cannot leave this one alone !

Family values are disregarded across the spectrum.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about.

I'm with you on this, when your step-dad goes on to be your step-grandad then there is something seriously wrong with your family. The poor girl didn't deserve any of this it was just her mis-fortune to be born into a family of absolute scum. And before the fluffy bunnies on here respond let me tell you that I had a pub in South Croydon and if you knew the area you would agree that that overspill sink esatate is full of shite. When they built the tram system which included New Addington things just got worse for Croydon town centre because all the scum could get into the town centre for very little money where as before it was an expensive cab ride.Drug abuse, alcohol abuse, benefit abuse is common place amongst that shower of shit.
I don't doubt that that are probably some decent families on that shithole estate but they are in a minority.

Thank God for some sanity on this disturbing subject, from someone else who knows what goes on in awful places like New Addington.

I remember a discussion on this very forum after a video was posted of a women racially abusing fellow passengers on a bus or train; she came from that shithole place and I wasn't surprised.

And any fluffy bunnies ( a forum favourite expression, it seems) who disbelieve what is being said, should treat themselves to a Friday night walk across this estate, but I would strongly advise them to wear brown underpants.

More then. Arrested on Friday night, apparently drunk and incoherent, and charged with murder on Saturday night?

What's the matter with our police force? That horrible man should have been questioned for at least three days, especially after he sobered up.

So because this kid was murdered on a sink estate all sink estates are kiddie murdering places?

You people amaze me sometimes.

Interesting question. As he's not even married to the grandmother surely he's no relation to her at all? Some papers were just referring to him as the grandmother's 'boyfriend'.
