Leaving Spain ?

Top Man Jon! People have said you were nothing more than a foppish limp wristed spermtrumpet, and how you were just the Andrew Ridgeley of the team as opposed to jdr being the George Michael.
And I've always said....yes I know, but there is more to him than that....and you've just proved it.
(Please note that the Wham comparison above was purely to denote who was the top man in the team.....and who was the waste of space. It does not mean that I was inferring jdr openly masturbates in public toilets).

Is it a specifically british disease , that Every Single Thread , aimed at any specific theme , which might well be of universal and/or worthy interest , just has to/MUST eventually turn into usual exchanging of rubbish-est one-liners , by a bunch of wasted lunatics ?

This is what happens when you start a thread and walk away and leave it in our hands!

It's real life! If you sit in a pub talking about something, invariably the subject will drift into another area. After all, this is a community of people rather than a Wiki.

Weekly , I receive e-mails from spanish Lidl ;
frankly , what with all their "special offers" , nothing much ever looks very cheap to me ...e.g.
in today's one , they advertise a 330 ml Corona beer at Euro 1,08 ;
here , in expensive Bruxelles ,
capital of under-worked and over-paid EUrocrats ,
one gets any and all sorts of beers from 25 EUrocents for a 330 ml can , but the prime brands like Stella Artois , Jupiler , Maes etc all seem to be priced in the 70 cents range , and I am talking Carrefour or similar class supermarket .
This example only just sprung to mind , even though I am not a big connoisseur on beers - however , some colleagues tell me that any number of essential food ( meat , cereals , dairy ) and various other grocery items can cost quite a bit more in Spain , than they currently cost in Germany , BeNeLux , Austria ...Similarly , I'm told , applies to new cars , motor insurance , diesel , ( imported ) books and press and so on ...
Any comments ?

Its fair to say that cars are more expensive here. Car insurance certainly isn't from my point of view, and its certainly better value as it includes European breakdown cover which used to cost me extra in the UK.
From my carrefour grocery list
500 gsm coffee beans - €2.99
Litre milk €0.99
Bottle of Rioja crianza €2.43
8 litres mineral water €1.09
Flora Marg 600 gm €2.30
6 x 330 cans amstel €2.58
Loaf of bread €0.88
5 chicken breasts €5.86
4 pieces good sirloin steak €14.44
4 x 0% bifida fat yoghurts - €0.95
You can get cheaper at Lidl and such supermarkets, but your choices are restricted then to the lines they sell.

Not wishing to be facetious and probably stating the obvious for me, but I think I have missed the jist of this thread.
Are we saying that Spain is no longer cheap?
Or are we saying it is?
I'm confused, which I know is an easy thing but I'm still confused.
