Well, from my perspective definitely, at 3.50 a pint now even with an OH as manager, and the cheapest meals in pubs around here starting at 12 quid, steaks are from 25 quid ffs!
Yet I still only get about 45 quid for my dead lambs, and prices are still falling, I haven't slaughtered any this year as a friend did and he only got 28 quid a carcass, yet you try and buy a leg of lamb for under 15 quid!!
Even with all of that we still live relatively cheaply, we buy as much fresh food as we can, which is always the cheapest way of doing it, and aside from my utterly shocking bar bill every month we have few luxuries (we wont mention the bloody expensive MBP I am typing on shall we?)
And that's the key, if you live to the limit of your means then anywhere is expensive.

I couldn't get it on the radio either and I'm in Manchester! I went on line and got it there....she gave BE.com a real good plug, didn't hear her mention the handcuffs though.
I think you can listen to a recording of the interview on a link on the website . It has also been mentioned that the Spanish goverment owe anyone who sold a property in Spain AFTER 2004 a bit of money. Something about the Spanish were only charged 15% and the British were charged 35%.

Thanks for the prices posted , Mitzy !
I suppose , for british retirees whose income is derived mostly in sterling , the recent falls of pound vs. Euro might have changed the equilibrium somewhat ?
( Except for those with diversified portfolios , who are probably most likely to be suffering from a devalued dollar too ? )
But , Euro for Euro , there doesn't appear to me to be very much difference in cost of many an item , between Spain and NW Europe ;
or : does anybody have a better idea/comprehension , of the way these things are likely to be going ?

Was it any good? I am sure that Tulip said that it would be available again later on, so I will keep my eyes out.

As you say the drop in the pound v euro has a huge effect when on a very low income such as a pension. This normally means that you have to change what you buy and what if any extras that you have to lose out on. However our money still goes further in Spain than it would in UK and anyway this fact alone would not send us back to UK.
