Re: Homes from Hell ITV re Camposol
Be advised though that the aerial views are from 2007, and Street View hasn't been posted yet, other than from the main road. You really need to see it for yourself to make a proper judgement, but yes, you can buy a 2 bed villa for 45k, or even less if you can stand being a car journey away from the nearest shop. Camposol is a big place, something like 6km from one end to the other!
Back in 2005 we rented for a week to check the place out, and came back a month later to buy the first villa we saw! We paid a premium price to be closer to the action.

There are gradients, but nothing that would put off a determined cyclist.
I think the temperature is more difficult to manage than the hilly bits- walking back to my place from the shops on 'B' is only a hassle when it's 40c! Fortunately for me (well, not so much fortunate as a shrewd decision) I live within 100m of the nearest commercial centre on 'A' which houses a variety of businesses including a small supermarket which opens 365 days a year, as well as several very pleasant bars. The centre on 'B' is a good ten minute walk.
cheers

I don't suppose you get local delivery vans around the areas far from the shops? I've seen these in small villages in northern Spain, and they work well in delivering basics like bread and cheese.

Our particular town is wonderfully self sufficient but do not sell fresh milk (I hate long life milk with a passion) so that means we go to the next town to Mercadonna for our milk so end buying quite a lot of other things too.

About the only thing we don't yet have is a pharmacia, but that is scheduled to open in October. The medical centre opened last year.
There are three supermarkets- Consum, Quicksave, and a family-run business. A huge Chinese shop and a ferreteria, as well as several specialised businesses- vets, hairdressers, electrical and computer shops etc.
One Chinese restaurant, 3 Indians, Hungarian, Italian, and a number of others including a one which has a bowling alley and snooker tables.
The nearest town (Mazarron) is about 8km away, so you would presumably need to go there for any dealings with the Town Hall. Other than that, and subject to the pharmacy finally becoming a reality I think you could manage everything on site. We have a Post Office, several banks and a couple of places that offer legal/gestor services.
We even have a travel agency and a car-hire branch!

Re: Homes from Hell ITV re Camposol
A few weeks ago I emailed the tourist info office in Mazarron asking for street plans of the town, port and Camposol and information about public transport. Mazarron was one of a dozen or so offices I contacted in southern Costa Blanca and Murcia with the same request, and the only one not to reply. The reason for the request is that Camposol is on our list of places to check out during our next recce trip later this year.
So can any residents tell me if there's a bus service from Camposol to Mazarron pueblo and port and to anywhere else please?
Also is there anywhere I can get a plan of the urbanisation to show where the sectors A, B, C and D are and where the commercial centres are situated and floor plans of the various styles of properties.

These should help!
In order of size these are Fiesta(my place), Classico, Rebecca and Rosa. There are several other types but I don't have plans to hand. All have two bedrooms, and the Rosa has an extra bathroom.
cheers

Re: Homes from Hell ITV re Camposol
There are buses that pass through Camposol between the local towns- a good look on Google Earth will provide an old aerial view which will give you an idea of where they are in relation to us. I don't personally use them so can't advise on times or frequency, but there is a new service beginning shortly. Also we now have one of those holiday-type 'trains' which shuttles throughout Camposol from A all the way to D and runs until midnight! There are quite a few people living here who don't have a car, and they seem to manage ok, not least because there is always someone who will lend a helping hand, and indeed a lift, when necessary.
You will have no difficulty finding the type of property you specified- I know of one such villa, within walking distance of the shops, detached and with it's own pool. Price: €139.995!
If money is no object there is another one on Sector A currently on the market at €1.3 million!
cheers

In most places an attic apartment would be bigger than that.
Our water tank is 64m2. No wonder they are cheap!

The Fiesta is small, but cosy. They have a small outside seating area and a roof terrace. A great price... to get your foot onto the Property ladder

If you happen to be vehicularly challenged then B or A provide the obvious solution. On the map you will see a vertical black line- this is the main road dividing the two sectors, each of which has a commercial centre. We live on A!

I've found what look to be well established Rosas on Calle Alicante on google street view.
We're not vehicularly challenged but intend to live in Spain for the rest of our naturals so may become so in later years. We also like the idea of getting public transport to the coast so as not to have the hassle of trying to park there in high season.
We'll come and have a look at Camposol.

Re: Homes from Hell ITV re Camposol
I retired at 46......I suppose I could have carried on working and eventually bought a bigger place, but for what? Bigger house = bigger bills
Don't forget I'm from Yorkshire
