How's your Spanish?

Mine is not good enough to accurately translate this document which is the letter to Spain from the EU regards the frontier inspection.

The recommendations have already been published in the press, but one previously undisclosed statistic is that the inspectors noticed the Spanish authorities were carrying out exhaustive checks on eight out of every ten cars, which for Spain is equivalent to "medium intensity" controls. This, on a day when the delays were significantly lower than they had been.

The European Commission tells Spain in its letter that there's clearly room for improvement by carrying out fewer random, and more risk-based checks.

Following a period of relative calm at sea, a series of incursions have been reported over the past two days.

One of them was witnessed the Governor and the Commander British Forces on board HMS Scimitar.

Well the Spanish fishermen have over the past five months created havoc and of course misery for their fellow Spaniards of La Linea.

By refusing to accept that the waters around Gibraltar are British.

They were supported at great costs by the GC.

However even the Spanish Foreign Minister has " expressed doubts as to the solidity of Spain's claim to the sovereignty of Gibraltar's territorial waters. "

So now the fishermen are being rewarded with a Christmas present:-

Spanish Fishermen claiming losses for their inability to fish in Gibraltar Waters are expecting to receive financial assistance from the Spanish Central Government this week.

So never mind the businesses in La Linea that have gone bust due to lack of Gibraltarian support

Best to be a crook in Spain and let the average Jose suffer.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

At least this cr@p weather will stop the Spanish cowboys from raping the oceans and raking the seabeds to shreds for a day or two.

Labour Party leader, Ed Miliband, has committed his party to supporting the rights of the people of Gibraltar to remain British. In an interview with the independent, Mr Miliband says Labour fully supports and upholds the right of Gibraltar and its people to remain under British Sovereignty. He says Spain's recent actions only serve to increase tension and foster mistrust and ill-feeling.

Spain threatens new emphasis on border controls

The Spanish Government has spared no festive goodwill towards Gibraltarians, and is looking to implementing new border controls in the New Year. This was the line from the PP in answer to a Parliamentary question from the PSOE.

A Government spokesman said the border controls were part of Spain's responsibility to the EU at the border with Gibraltar, who belongs to neither the Schengen agreement, nor the Customs Union.

In 2013, the Royal Navy had to deal with almost 500 illegal incursions, into British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, by foreign government vessels – principally if not exclusively, Spanish state vessels.

that seems a poorly written piece Fred.
are they trying to say that all of the illegal incursions are by Spanish or are there any other nations involved
