Hopefully it will be kicked into touch and Rajoy with it.
I fully agree with the opinion expressed in the article and following the Spanish media as I do, the effects of the gagging laws have been all too obvious.

Oops, another 30,000 down the drain.

UK blocks release of 60-year old ‘sensitive’ Gibraltar documents

by Tommy Norton

The British Government has refused to release Colonial Office documents covering its negotiations with Spain about the future of Gibraltar in 1966.

In explaining its decision, the UK said the documents “remain sensitive” to this day.

The 60-year-old papers held at The National Archives in London are long overdue for release but this week the British Government cited an exemption in the Freedom of Information Act to block release of the files

I suspect they were going to sell Gibraltar down the Spanish drain.

Luckily they decided to sell Britain down the EU drain instead.

UK court rules against Spanish company in airport tunnel appeal bid

The Supreme Court of England and Wales has turned down an application from Spanish civil engineering firm OHL for permission to file a fresh appeal in its long-running legal dispute with the Gibraltar Government over the airport tunnel.

The decision means the Spanish company has no further legal options open in the case.

The Government says it has for some months been working assiduously behind the scenes, with the assistance of Messrs Holland & Knight law firm in the USA, to persuade the District of Columbia of the fact that their published tax haven style blacklist was inaccurate in general and specifically so in the case of Gibraltar.

Rock military base costs UK £70m a year

The total operational cost of the UK’s military base in Gibraltar for the year 2014-2015 is £70 million, Britain’s Ministry of Defence has revealed.

Mr Koskinen also described as “truly remarkable”, Gibraltar’s ability to carry out the necessary steps to ensure compliance and implement a secure electronic information exchange. Fred.

This is a jolly OK thread about all things Gibraltar, so I am moving it into Siesta Time.
I think it belongs there.

So to everyone else:
Look on this thread like a mini forum. It is about all things Gibraltar.

BE rules apply so I really do not want to see bun fights on here

If you wish to discuss then do so like you were in your parents or grandparents houses. Clips around the ears are to be avoided.

Thanks.

Today is polling day to elect a new government for the next 4 years.

This time there are only 2 parties taking part

Each is allowed to present 10 candidates and the government consists of 17 members.

There are 23,278 registered voters

Each voter can select up to 10 candidates.

I will as always vote for Screaming Lord Sutch

His name will not be on the ballot paper.

I will add it to the bottom and put 10 x's next to it
