Yes, I suppose Spain might be quite thankful that one of the smuggling routes could be closed.

Obviously you have no idea of smuggling routes.

Who would be so stupid to smuggle into a very small area with a monitored coastline only to then smuggle again into another country that has a wide open coast and a very tight frontier?

Dunno, but you could try asking the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism.

They've looked into it in some detail.

people smuggle cigarettes out of Gibraltar. But La Linea and those beaches of Andalusia are a hotbed for cocaine and hashish smuggling. You can be lay on the beach there and see a boat come in from Morocco and all the Morrocan’s unload it quickly and disappear. There was a good documentary on La Linea on Netflix.

The last thing the people of Gibraltar would want is that the Rock becomes an extension on La Linea.

Whilst you refer to Andalusia Spain has a coastline of around 5,000 km

Vox calls for the intensification of diplomatic action against Gibraltar whilst calling on Morocco to recognise Spanish ownership of Ceuta and Melilla
plus building impassable walls around both colonies.

Don't tell me, Morocco are going to pay for the wall as well?

If I were Gibraltar I'd sign the agreement now instead of chancing negotiating with these luminaries after the elections.

So you would sign an agreement with terms you don't agree with!

Like most things in life, not every agreement will be 100% perfect. I'm sure it's not 100% perfect for Spain either. 80-90% is fine.

Spains proposal for the agreement is 100% acceptable for Spain, that is why the UK and Gib are not prepared to sign
