Re: Gibralar v Spain yet again
The European Commission has told a Gibraltar MEP that it has no powers to intervene in the ongoing standoffs at sea between local law enforcement agencies and the Guardia Civil.
So what are they for??????????? http://www.chronicle.gi/headlines_details.php?id=25853 |

Hypocrisy of the Spanish Empire!
In fact as recently as last month Spain’s ambassador to the United Nations was still saying that “Gibraltar is a colony and what must be done is establish a system of negotiations that will lead to the territorial unity of the country,†Spain in fact, has many more anachronistic lands under their own colonial belt that they accuse others of being, three or four in fact just off (where else) morocco! http://www.panorama.gi/localnews/hea...=9241&offset=0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plazas_de_soberan%C3%ADa |

The majority population of Ceuta and Melilla are Spanish, and don't want to be governed by Morocco. So the situation is very similar to the majority population of Gibraltar who want to remain British. There is also a big trade in duty-free goods between Africa and the EU via these territories - another parallel with Gib. |

I like this bit:-
Article IV. If Spain should desire to cede, sell or lease, partially or totally, her possessions in Morocco to any other power or to Morocco, she agrees not to do so without the express sanction of France." |

The only thing messing it up is the idiotic Eurocrats trying to convert it all into a European version of the USA. |
