Conflict of interest or what?

Spain’s Minister for Agriculture and the Environment, Miguel Arias Cañete has a family interest in Gibraltar’s bunkering industry

Spain is preparing measures to supposedly “protect” from an environmental point of view the waters around Gibraltar declared as a Site of Community Importance by the European Commission. That’s according to sources in the Spanish Ministry for Agriculture

Funny how in Spain we can go three or four days when there's a puente, no problem. And that's with fifteen people expected for lunch!

You must come to Sunday lunch next time you're passing J2!

Queso and jamón are just the starters ... :)

You obviously live in a different Spain to the one I know, but then of course you live in la-la land

That must be the equivalent of leaving a known thief to guard your property.

A better copy of the map

http://elpais.kioskoymas.com/epaper/...mode=2&page=16

Note the lack of coverage of the area Spain uses for bunkering and no mention of the land reclamation carried out by Spain in the Bay of Gibraltar

I note that to the North East the 3m radius gets stretched a little bit, but then exactly what is "aproximado" as a term of measurement ?
presumably that can be used to allow a little bit of encroachment as it is "aproximado"

surprised to see they are accepting "Estrecho de Gibraltar", with the Spanish quirk of renaming everything surprised they don't call it "Estrecho de Tarifa" or similar.

funny how you take your £nglish side and plan to cover the puente whilst many people don't.

The Filipino maid says she has seen them loading trollies with so much stuff for one day holiday that it makes her wonder if they are eating all the day long. At least she has the chauffeur to help her unload the trollies.

The area around the bay is known as the Campo de Gibraltar

The CEPSA Oil refinery once said to be the dirtiest in Europe is known as la refinería Gibraltar

However the Spanish have renamed the Bay of Gibraltar as Bahia de Algeciras

Around 36 thousand people cross the border between Gibraltar and Spain every day, as well as ten thousand cars, 180 trucks and 40 buses.

That's correct! We only go to the supermarket once a fortnight (it's 50 km away). We grow all our own fruit and veg on our la-la-land, our hens la-la-lay lots of lovely free-range huevos, and in our freezer there is enough meat and fish to la-la-last a month.

the maid only goes to the big supermarket (20km away) about once a month.
we don't grow our own as the gardener would go ballistic at the extra work and I couldnt face the thought of having to look at carrots and cauliflower things when on the verandah having a G&T.

the chef says he uses the fridge and freezer, but tells me we have plenty of local shops here and uses them almost daily for freshness. Understand it looks good for us as a British family to be seen to be putting a bit of our richness into the local community.

I'm sure someone will come on here and say how sad it is that people grow their own, I know I wouldn't as I don't like working the soil, getting one's hands dirty - have you never wondered what the worms do in it.
