Four Times Over

Well, no-one seems to be able to come up with a good reason why the building most symbolic of western wealth and capital, i.e. the World Trade Center, was the prime al Qaeda target.
It's pretty obvious to me - look at the list of tenants. Morgan Stanley, Lehmann Bros, Marsh & McLennan, the Bank of America, AIG, etc etc. (all those "too big to fail" names who seven years later brought about the a global financial crisis). I bet lots of those 100 billionaires work(ed) for those companies at some point.
Looks pretty rational to me. I'm not saying it was justified, of course, but I don't think it was motivated by religion. Like most wars, religion is just a façade used to cover up a deeper hatred. It was an attack on wealth, just like the Russian and French revolutions were.

Consider the others before jumping to conclusions.

The list is endless. Poca appears to have cherry-picked one incident to 'prove' her agenda.

And what about the Madrid bombings, the London tube bombings, the Mali bombing, the attack on USS Cole, the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, the car bombing of the Danish embassy in Pakistan (directly because of the Mohammed cartoons), and....

If it was an uprising by the oppressed masses to redistribute the wealth of the rich, why try to crack the biggest nut of all, the US, first ?
There's oodles of money lying around the Islamic Middle East that is infinitely easier for al Queda to grab and hand out to the starving hordes, as well as to provide necessary finance for their 'revolution'.
On topic, I'm still going to give to Guide Dogs for the Blind, whatever.

they don't like being questioned - probably because they have no real answers
they don't like being told what to do - probably because they have no real thoughts of their own
their leaders believe they are doing the preparation for the Mahdi who, according to Islamic traditions, will come before the end of time to make the entire world Muslim, making his way easier.
religious zealots will do whatever they are told by anyone they look up to, usually an imam or teacher. they will not think, they will have no regrets or doubts. They will just do.
there is no reasoning with them.
you would be better off wasting your time trying to explain why earthquakes happen, why people get killed by natural disasters, why people get killed in road accidents.
sorry to be harsh, but thats the way of it.

The West can never compromise with them. They want what cant be given...Muslim states ith sharia law and all the other crap that comes with it. Everyone thought the Arab spring was about democracy poverty, jobs. (well I didn't) but it was all about getting Islamist states and going backwards. Even the President of Syria looks mild compared to whats waiting in the wings

Don't talk rubbish- we went in there based on Tony's dodgy dossier in the naive belief that we could create a liberal western democracy and the result was a huge death toll. If we had wanted to do the genocide piece that would have been easy to do by aerial bombing

But we do know why they are bombing us. It is in retaliation for the massacre of Muslims by the United States and it's agents in Palestine, Chechnya, Kashmir, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Mali.
It is a holy war in defence of their religion.
Bonkers, of course.
On topic :
I was always under the impression that the selling of lottery tickets in Spain was the preserve of the charity for the blind and they alone could sell them.
Obviously not the case anymore wth all the lottery shops lying around.
Could Pocaloca with her knowledge of Spain (or anyone else) put me straight ?
Thanking you in advance.
