My God, what a vitriolic person you are. The Unions saved my job for me when I was being put out to dry by an extremely vindictive boss. Anyway I think we are now drifting way off course and need to return to the Euro and sterling.

Yes absolutely. Sterling has crashed today & the rate has gone right down. The euro is still holding on but don't know what will happen in mid March where there will be talks about Greece crisis. Hope euro & sterling will perk up soon.

Perhaps this may enlighten the non believers.

The Labour Party has always been an instrument of destruction for the UK
The Labour party have come to power and wrecked our economy on each time they came to power.

There was a report yesterday on Bloomberg Business news that the pound could fall by up to 30% if labour wins the coming election.

In 1945 when they formed the NHS (A good Thing) they then went and nationalised everything (A very bad thing).
We then had to beg the Yanks for a loan to prevent the British people starving, don’t forget there was still rationing then.

The miners went on strike for a 25% wage hike. The government gave into them and we had the winter of discontent 25% inflation and had to ask the IMF for help.

The one jock (No Disrespect to our Scottish friends) has sold all our gold at 150ish an ounce as it was worthless metal “his words” our good neighbours the Germans rubbed they hands together and bought it all, history will tell.

They have increased public sector spending that can’t be paid for.
Taken us into Afghanistan and Iraq and this will cost billions of pounds we have not got.
The one jock again (No Disrespect to our Scottish friends) took control of the money supply from the Bank of England. Most of the world’s economists said that this would lead to a credit explosion and be followed by massive bad debt.

That was, IMO, one of the most stupid financial moves of his time! Good way to get a quick fix of money without thinking too far into the future.

Exactly. The reason sterling has gone down is because there is a high likelihood of an hung Parliament which no one in complete control to make decisions. The markets just do not like this.

As for me working in any unionised company I was not allowed to work (Docks Esso etc) we had to keep to the union rules on how long a job would take, most of them could be done in a third of the time, "result" most made redundent and all work outsourced to contractors!!

Not sure why I am replying as it's no good discussing anything with Socialist/Labour Bigots as they can only see one point of view there's.
I repeat the question. What is your definition of socialism? (Only you do seem to rather favour the more national strain.)

What's worse, a leftwing bigot, or a rightwing one?

So, unions became a bad thing on the stroke of midnight on the 31st Dec 1999? That doesn't even make sense.

After you little diatribe against immigrants, methinks your board name should be changed to 'golfo'

They say the Labour party is ahead in the polls (not as in poles), not good news for Golfy.

It dos'nt make any difference to me who wins the upcoming election or the state of the Euro/Pound as I have no intention of ever returning to the uk in it's present form, and union bashing to me was very lucrative which has allowed me to spend the last 10yrs and the next 10yrs in the sun.

And don't forget when your pensions slowly decrease in value and the pound exchange rate keeps falling, if you voted labour you only have yourself to blame.
