Our Portuguese rental was parked next to the disabled space that was already occupied by an electricians van. When I took the ticket to the local police near the football stadium with this picture they accepted the explanation, tore up the ticket and admitted that they don't prosecute Portuguese rentals. However, had we been there when the ticked was written we may have been subject to an on the spot fine. €90 Cod---------very fishy I thought.

No, there was not a ticket on the electricians windscreen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't seen any "real" wardens but they have got some community police officers who's main duty seems to be to supervise the children in the square from 4-6 each day they might just have been filling in until home time.

Maybe there is some justice being dished out after all.

Hi hoski,

Good luck on the first of what should be many tours. Didn't know Delhi was in Europe but I am sure you will cope if you avoid the dreaded Delhi belly. You must be the CE rep on this jaunt so we are all behind you.

Regards,

John.

I hope this will be ALWAYS just a joke, because there are some ideas to make this algarve road a "BRISA" one... www.brisa.pt

Is this road not one of the EU sponsored ones (like the link to the chunnel) which cannot be put on a toll system?

It certainly has an E number (not being funny) and I am sure there are signs saying that both sides of the border were part funded by EU money so you may be correct.

So that is good news!! All we have to moan about is the lack of electricity to the plots and RAGO 1 and RVA 1 anybody have any good news on that front? Lets make a good news week after the 1/4 fun.

John.
Hi All,

It really is good news week I have just heard this: -

"Today I went to the Town Hall to talk to the "jefe de obras" who deals with public services in the town and he told me the same as Vicente from Fadesa last week, that it is, "a question of days" (it was supposed to be connected last week).

All the lines are ready for the connection, the problem is that, of all the new electrics lines for Costa Esuri, only two are connected at present, but the amount of watts (something like 66,000 if that is possible) for the connection of all the other lines requires the gas plant to be turned off as a safety precaution so, the problem is the agreement of a date between Sevillana Endesa and the gas company for this to happen."

It ought to be soon since as the summer arrives more people will be over in Esuri and it will be more difficult for the gas to be turned off. All the bits of information now seem to tie together and with an important title like that it must be true.

I will put the champagne on ice!

Regards,

John.
