If you do not mind travelling to Tavira I can recommend Abstracto, Rive Gauche and A Pateo. The first 2 are French influenced and the latter Portuguese. They are located just north of the Roman bridge. If you walk over the bridge you immediately come to a triangular building, go to the right. You will walk about 30 metres and there is narrow street on the right, you can see Rive Gauche on the right. To find the others walk back to the end of the narrow street turn right and they are more or less next door to each other about 20 metres up the road.
I'm going to have to eat loads with all the info you guys have given me...... Yum

On the subject of food...and, perhaps a bit early for some to stomach...my favourite meal so far has been a menu del dia of "squid in it's ink" served with rice...yum! Same place served the mayor, so you could always ask to have what he is having!

Marisol, with all the lovely vegetables you can buy in Spain, they don`t seem to serve many of them with the meals in Spanish restaurants, or is it just where I go.
When you cook at home do you not have vegetables with your meals.
Maybe it is just the poor British way that our vegetables seem to swamp our plates and we nearly lose the meat. lol

If I lived in Esuri I'd want a curry now and then but I'd make my own and I'm happy to supply anyone that gets a curry urge!!!
But I don't (live there that is) so when I'm there I just love eating fresh food that I can get in London but would cost me a small fortune here, plus in London I've got someone messing around with it. Simplicity is the way forward.
The fish/fruit/meat market in Ayamonte is fantastic I can see me living in there. Cycle down in a morning. Buy the stuff, cry as I cycle up the hills back to Costa Esuri and then grill outside and drink some plonk. I don't want more than that.

There's the new Namaste Indian Restaurant in Cartaya which is very good

You're correct about your tinned veg, Fortaleza. Bottled veg looks pretty on a shelf, too. Yet, with the fresh produce in the market... Convenience can't be used as an excuse.

Why are you so adamant that this is going to affect CE? In the grand scheme of Fadesa things, CE is a drop in the ocean. And you lot on here criticised JDR, me and others for being negative but your posts of late seem to suggest you are practically begging for there to be a problem

Why are you so adamant that this is going to affect CE? In the grand scheme of Fadesa things, CE is a drop in the ocean. And you lot on here criticised JDR, me and others for being negative but your posts of late seem to suggest you are practically begging for there to be a problem
I am simply repeating what is being reported. This is one of the few forums where the issues with Fadesa and CE can openly and honestly be reported....something that the local press seem unwilling to do.
I am not begging for there to be a problem. I have invested money, time and effort in trying to get Fadesa to deliver thier promises....I am concerned (very). I cannot ignore what is going on with the refinancing of MFs debt.
May be this is all a storm in a tea cup. I do hope it all works out. But there are indicators out there that concern me. They should concern all with a genuine interest in CE.
I would ask you a simple question. Hypothetically,if a developer rang you tomorrow asking you to complete; yet there was no mains electricity, promissed works had been delayed, the debt had yet to be refinanced, it had missed a loan payment and had yet to renegotiate credit terms with suppliers....would you complete? What do you think your solicitor would say?

Fadesa may go bust. But the receivers come in and sell off the assets.
Costa Esuri is an asset. Someone will buy it.
The houses or land or project won't vanish. It may be a good or a bad thing in the short term. Maybe someone with more vision will buy it.
Maybe some developer with less vision will buy it.
All I know is it won't vanish.
In the long term it makes no odds. That's just my opinion.

Who knows but enough people are punting on it, or it could be a dreaded hedge fund inflating to buy back at a lower rate.
Either way it's a tentative positive.
As I say, the houses won't get bull dozed. THe land and course etc will have residual value so whilst the value of our "investment" may go down initially. Long term it should still be OK.
