COSTA ESURI - AYAMONTE
#5251
Jon, I have lived in Ayamonte for 3 years and have no appointed lawyer at the moment. But about 6 months ago I got hold of Gloria's number and rang her from work (never met her) about a legal issue which I had been given mixed responses to. She answered the phone herself and provided me with sound legal advice without any hesitation. I have friends in Ayamonte and have only heard good things about her. If I need legal assistance in the future I have been persuaded to go with her over any others.
Just my personal opinion, you don`t need to physically be in the same roon as your lawyer to get good advice. You just need a good lawyer!!
Good luck on your search!!

I don't know if it is a cultural thing but the Spanish hardly ever reply to e-mails. Iam suprised if someone does

As i have said before in a previous message i have found Gloria to be reliable, professional and good humoured in the numerous property dealings i have carried out with her assistance over the past 4 years.
Good luck and give her a call.

Hi Jackytoo, Maybe its cultural, in everyday life, but lawyers are supposed to be professional. I would expect any professional, whatever their speciality, to know about the basics of customer service and support... especially when this involves expensive items like home purchase.

But as you say, for what you pay you should get better service, try signed for snailmail, at least you will know they have received it and have proof.

I suspect Mitzy's clarifcation was a point of site rules as opposed to English language semantics!!!!

However, for what its worth, said lawyer I feel unable to recommend. I'm not going to expand more on a public forum - and also it wouldn't be fair to her.
Suffice to say, she wouldn't be my choice and you can draw your own conclusions from that.

Gloria is the one that seems popular with the Brits in Ayamonte and I haven't heard any unduly bad stories so I'd go for it.
Another route for you to consider is to take on one of the many Spanish lawyers in the whole area who specialise on conveyancing and property law etc, but don't have the advantage of being able to speak English. You would just need to take a translator with you. Lawyers I've used around here have no English, but they've always done a great job for me (and not as expensive either!!!)

The firm we went with were based in Marbella but were linked with UK firm of solicitors,so we had 2 possible points of contact.
They were excellent.Antyime I emailed them they replied promptly and were were extremley efficient in the way they dealt with our purchase.
The reason we went with them as well was because they were not local to the area and so a "conflict of interest" was less likely

With hindsight, it may have been a little more expensive.

Having researched costs involved in conveyancing they seemed about market average.
