If the Spanish had purchased large amounts of property on Esuri in the beginning ,as they had the opportunity to do,then logically there would have been more Spanish. How did the Companies who promoted Esuri know it was going to be "plagued with Brits".

My friends also knew this too, but they were led to believe by the sales team that there would also be a strong Spanish community too.






I did not meet them until after they had bought but before moving in (as it wasn't complete). We did at the time tell them that it was going to be Little Britain, to which they were fairly open-minded about, assuming that although there would be foreigners there would be loads of Spanish too. What they did not expect was the outcome - remember that of the 2150-odd Fadesa built units, only around 1250 are sold, and a number far, far less than that are occupied. As for the rest of the site by other developers, I don't know the numbers there, but I'm led to believe that of the ones that have even bothered to continue to build, and the ones who haven't gone bust, the numbers are low too. Most of the permanently occupied units I beleive to be foreign (mainly Brit) owned. It was therefore very easy for them to feel outnumbered and unwelcome.

BTW - they do have a property near me now, and are very happy when they come down. They were here for Carnaval and are back again for the Puente and for Semana Santa. Everything they want is here - a bustling town, a beautiful long stretching beach, bars, restaurants, marina, fishing port, shops, decent supermarkets (with five chains to choose from). So, I suppose (although I doubt they'd see it this way as they are quite bitter about the experience!!!) the Fadesa sales staff probably did them a favour in the end!!!!

i dont agree with you. I live in Madrid, im Spaniard and i am delighted with our house. the most important for me is to know good people, i dont mind where they are from. I have shared very good moments with people who live there, people who are from Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, Portugal, Belgium.... and i wouldnt be better if i had been with Spanish people.
All those people want to integrate in Spain (if not, they wouldnt have met me) they all are trying to learn Spanish, they all try the spanish food and when we have gone out for lunch, for instance, they asked me to go to a really Spanish restaurant.
I dont either like people who think they are better than everyone else just because they are from another Country and belive me, there are a lot of people like this, but this kind of people can be from anywhere. You cant imagine how many people from Spain there are that feel as if the world revolves around them.
When i am in CE i feel i am in Spain, of course, i'm in Spain.
In short, im very happy with the house and the neighbors i have.
