We have been told that Pauline & Arthur Nolan do builders cleans and snagging lists. Has anyone used them and what are your thoughts? Any info would be great

Thanks

Iain
Iain, we used Arthur and Pauline, they are very helpful, thorough & professional. And with the added advantage of Arthur being a fluent Spanish speaker.
I will pm the details.
Good luck.

Can anyone post any recent pictures of CE?
I will be in CE next week - so will load pictures on my return

We've just got back from a few days on CE and other owners/potential owners may be pleased to know that there was a security presence every night on Rago 1. Lots of builders around busy from early in the morning - but we just need some greenery!

I was out in CE last week week and understand that due to the Hotel not being complete ESURI Golf East will not open until perhaps September 08. Anyone else heard this?. I walked 8/9 of the holes and some infrastructure work is stilll needed but the layout should be very testing and as good as Esuri west.

It's Brigadoon!
Perhaps CE will return in 100 years...
(open for discussion)

Has anyone been to the new municipal swimming pool/sports centre in Ayamonte? Has it opened on the 15th Feb?

Just returned (ala water leaks etc..) played the Seve course opposite CE..
Fairways were VERY rough .. but layout, clubhouse and service is great.
The Greens are amazing .. good time to play 90 Euros for 2 inc buggy..

BTW my 15 year old son had to pay full charges on CE making a round 140 Euros (ouch !).. making CE 2nd most expensive course after Monte Rei..

Read something don't know where that the pool was not quite open. You can go to the sports centre and there are courses and discount tickets.

We were out a few weeks back and had a problem with the boiler when we arrived. The pilot light was on, but it would not fire up when we turned on the hot water taps. Phoned Fedesa who happily referred us to the manufacturer as a warranty claim (thanks Fedesa!!).

We called the manufacturer, but they would not book a call for us without a Spanish phone number as a reference (time to get a Spanish mobile!!). Luckily we have a friend out there and used their number. This was on a Wednesday and they said the earliest they could get out was the following Tuesday, which was no good to us as we were leaving on the Monday!

Our friend recommended a plumber who could take a look for 30 euros, so we agreed. He arrived pronto, tweaked a few screws and the boiler fired up. But that was when things went very WET.

After turning the hot taps on and off several times to make sure the boiler was working fine, we noticed that the boiler came on but did not go off. The continuous on/off movements of the taps had caused a "push fit" connection above the false ceiling in the shower room to come apart. The hot water started pouring down the walls and across the floor.

We immediately shut the water off to the shower room and called Fedesa. This time they came running and fixed the problem very quickly. They said it was a faulty washer in the "push fit" connector and replaced it.

Dread to think how much water would of escaped if we weren't there, so our water will be turned off when nobody is staying there...!!

A few more lessons have been learnt....

Poor you! As you say, lucky you were there. We turn every utility off in our apartment when we leave.
