Perhaps if you were to browse through the rules it would save the mods having to delete things like blatant adverts.
I think you will agree that your post well and truely breached rule 9. You will also notice that over the last two or three pages the mods have turned a blind eye to the emails and other stuff that has been posted because of the importance to you who live there, but of course there is no mention of that in your post, but then why should we expect any recognition. :) I haven't got time to read rule 9 and I couldn't give a toss what it says. I put up a post about service being offered by a local business, totally unrelated with myself in which I have no interest, that is offering a service that alot of people on CE have been looking for. 'Advertising' is done by businneses promoting their products/services and is paid for. I have no interest in this business and my post was merely there to inform CE residents/visitors about a service that is available. Sue (who I think owns this site) would do well to remember that advertising is what brings the income in for this and many other sites. Advertising only pays when you have visitors and visitors only come when they have information that interests them! With regard to the posts you haven't deleted over the last few weeks well done for using your common sense, I'll send you a badge.... |

Rapidly followed by both leaving, and me in the mire. But, hey that's life....

You are right about the site relying on adverts to support it, so that is why rule 9 (read it) is there. The rules are put in place and need to be obeyed by all members if they want to use the site, nobody has extra privileges and those that don´t keep to them have their posting priveledges removed. |

So, I hear the Tuck Truck is making its way up CE today. Doubt you'll be able to miss it what with its bright yellow colours. Not sure EXACTLY where it will be parked. Maybe someone knows? ;)

Also he has never advertised his restaurant, hasnt needed to because he has had no end of recommendation's from people (like me) who have no commercial connection with it... but tried it first. Ive learned that if you want to recommend a company you have to say up front that you have no commercial connection with the company/individual. Then say why you recommend them. This is the kind of information that is really useful on the forum especially for people like me who initially were buying and waiting for completion.. great preparatory stuff, including business recommendations - and the same after completion too. We had the best ever move in we've had after we completed - everything went like clockwork and no experience of Manana or the so-called 'Spanish way' A lot of that success was due to the information and recommendations on this forum. Whoa cool down here - I dont think your comment is fair JDR. Jag is NOT one of those posters who have an 'attitude' or waste peoples time. Its value added stuff.

Rules are made by the site owners for the benefit of all members to make the site run smoothly and nobody gets special priveleges, if people don`t play by the rules it`s not my fault if they get reprimanded. It doesn`t take three minutes to read the rules, then everyone is happy and know what and what they cannot post. PS, read rule 14. ;-) Any further comments as per rule 14 to me or admin if you like, thanks. |

OK to lighten to mood here are some photos of the festival of Saint Carmen the virgin in the Isla Canela barriere... each year they parade the saint through every street in the town, and then actually go onto the Guadiana and carry/swim it in the water. Its amazing how far they go into the water.
Later music dancing and fireworks till late.... happens mid July every year.... we got there early to get a place.... open the attach and keep hitting the space bar.... Regards Jon |
