Seriously, mate, this has been a Carnaval like no other year. Everyone is talking about it. Just left the street now and it's wild - and only 6.30pm!!!!!!!!

The difference this year has been the shutting down of the centre to traffice and all the main streets and side ones going off are under open marquees. This means loads of street bars as well as the normal bars. Turn a corner and you've got a whole new atmosphere. All different groups doing their stuff.

For someone who normally hates Carnaval, I have to admit I'm impressed. So much so,I'm off for more beer and to leer at the Brazilian dancers

I have heard it was off the scale, might as well close the schools for the week. On another note I don't know which is more scary that you are responsible for 25% of all my Karma or that I now have a spectacular aura

Part IV is quickly slipping down the pages (page 3 by now...) Find it, then either look for page 154, post #2301, OR, type in keyword "boiler" in the "search this thread" box and you should find the post.

Again, find Part IV (you can use the "search this forum" tool at the top menu) and look for page 330, post #4949. Or, click on Michaelh's name (beside his last post), click on "other posts by Michaelh" - and they should be listed starting with the most recent - 'til you find the one with the list of 7 things to ask for in documentation.
Now, I could do it for you...

The benefit of Easyjet is that they do not have a weight restriction on hand luggage except you must be able to lift it - ie you can't stuff it under a seat.
Yes, my cousin had to pack her handbag in her one piece of hand luggage; however, they allowed her to carry, draped over her arm, 2 pairs of jeans(!)and a winter coat(in order to remain within her checked in baggage weight restriction).

As for the marmite, what a shame, Sue G! "Fake tan, mosquito repellent, hair curler"...and yet on the bottle, it says nothing about being a liquid. It is indeed an acquired taste (acquired by security/customs).

I noticed in the Feb edition of the english language paper that there are 2 "expat"/international food suppliers in Ayamonte. Is that correct, Fortaleza?

Ah, just noticed photos! great!

You know, Tere has often been heard to say in Los Estudiantes or the 'Mariconeria' Gran Via that it was your spectacular aura that was what first attracted her. That and the enormous....................................

Are you being sarcastic? Or, are you overwhelmed by the Brazilian beauties?
BTW, I watched the televised carnaval eggstravaganza from, where was it? Las Canarias? It was called something "Drag", which, in all innocence, I thought had something to do with Catalan (drac, etc...) No, my mistake, it was a drag show. After a while, it became repetitive... Amazing platform shoes!

No Sarcasm.

Isla Cristina Carnaval is one of the best on the peninsula behind Cadiz (very much in the same vein, to be honest). This year though they have surpassed themselves.

Too late for a lot of you to make it tonight or tomorrow, but those not too far away should consider popping in. It really is something special (remember I hate Carnaval so it must be good!)

Fortaleza,

You never answered my question on the old thread, so how come you are peddling this 'tosh'?

Or are we reading it through €uro tinted glasses these days?

No I think you will find that post was in January, I just have good memory. I just think if you call something 'Tosh' one day and then start promoting it you should justify yourself, no!
