How are you planning to get your stuff back to chiclana? Delivery is based on 'the more you spend the more it costs' I am told. When will you be shopping?
I am hoping (everything crossed, but cynical enough to keep grounded) that it will be towards the end of Feb, when we should have completed..I know I know...

We are hiring a Zafira (£150 for the week) so with all seats down there won't be that much we can't fit it-we have one here at home, and it hasn't let us down yet!

If you do go to IKEA avoid Saturdays - It was bedlam? Does anyone know what is the best time to go?

Thanks Dazzle

I have been in touch and they do a good service. However, it does add about 160 euros to the cost of things. We may try and hire a van ourselves. Maybe there is someone out there who would be interested in sharing the cost? The window for an IKEA visit would be 19 - 24th Feb.

Hello All,
Could anyone please tell me what the weather forcast is for Chiclana tomorrow (Wed.) onwards? Do a group of under 16's REALLY need a coat?
No replies about teenage angst, please. This is a serious question. :scared:
Thank you,
Carol

Hello NicCol
Might be best to check the exact space in your Zafira and if you know what you want from IKEA, find out the actual size of the package. It seems even a sofa bed when packed, is a bit smaller than it is in assembled form, which is useful but it would be a shame to hire the car specifically and then find you can't get stuff in. I think we will double check ours in case it does turn out to be big enough, now you mention it.

Re: Chiclana/Cadiz weather forcast.
Thank you Steve for the useful links!
Looks like the weather is not going to be all sunshine (shame!). Would a Northeasterly or Easterly wind feel quite nippy (coming off the meseta?)
Verdict: Wear a jacket.
Regards,
Carol

The wind is freezing today but looks like it might drop a bit tomorrow. Would definitely suggest coats. The sun is lovely but only out of the wind.

No Glynis its not the green one, although I have been told about it. This is one based in Seville. I'm not saying anybody overcharges by the way, the folks are only trying to make a living and their costings are not unfair. Its just that our budget has got a bit tight and we really have to cut costs wherever possible. I think we will rent something suitable locally when we get back again.

You are looking at the same week as we are out to go shopping, so perhaps the idea of sharing a van maybe a good one, if the cars are no good. At the moment though I am still waiting for completion - so who knows, I could be just window shopping that week!

All I can tell you is that I was in the Venta la Garza recently and there was a official (I think a lawyer from the council) inspecting the escituras and utility bills of the residents of Bateria Colorada. Talking to one he said he was getting quite concerned because the council had raised the price per square meter from what was expected.

If any residents of this area are members or read this forum perhaps they could enlighten you further?

Thanks, Glynis.
But, you know, it might be a case of "I told you so" when they return.

Someone I know bought in Pago way, way out by the Dogs and Cats Refuge. There are three houses on their own surrounded by countryside. No meters and obviously illegal, but, if you look at their position it speaks for itself.

What happens to properties in the white bit then?? What do all the colours mean???
